I have only been to the Tannery twice but both times have been well worth the money. There evening menu is expensive, but the food is fab. The restaurant itself is lovely and though it is expensive it is not pretentious but serves beautiful, different food from the run of the mill restaurants. The service is friendly and professional. Paul and Maire Flynn were approaching the end of a long weekend of wining and dining at the Dungarvan Food Festival when we descended upon them; yet they and their team could not have been more hospitable. This is an exceptional restaurant; think delicious local ingredients, wonderful cooking, great wines and terrific service.

This was our first visit to the Tannery - every year - at some stage - we treat ourselves to a break at the magical Cliff House hotel at Ardmore. Last year, we tried to get in but I think it was closed on the day that we wanted. This year, we were down in County Waterford with friends over... More

As Máire Flynn topped up our champagne glasses in the Tannery's buzzing wine bar, we started to totally relax after separate car journeys across the country. Friday evening and the restaurant was hopping. We dined in the stylish calm of the restaurant upstairs, looked after warmly by Máire, Daniel, and their very professional wait staff. It was the Mammy's birthday,... More

What I liked about the food in the Tannery is that it is not trying to be something its not- he is not after a michelin star so there is no pomp or deconstruction going on - its just simple food, really well cooked that tastes fantastic. We ate upstairs and tables were on the borderline of comfort for me in... More

This restaurant epitomises the warmth of welcome and generousity of spiirit which we like to think is central to our famous hospitality in Ireland. The food is refreshingly without the compulsory foams , smears and myriad of garnishes but is utterly delicious and true to the integrity of the ingredients. The staff are professional, charming and good humoured . It... More

Having visiting this restaurant twice before we were all disappointed with the standard of the food. To start the bread was all plain hard brown bread. We ordered from the set menu. The starters were all tasty but nothing amazing. The main course of rack if pork was nothing but one large chewy chop with one large carrot placed underneath.... More

Dear Phylly 25 Firstly I apologise again for your disappointing experience in the Tannery last week, as I did in my email when we were contacted afterwards. And as I said in my second email , I was very grateful that you decided to reply to us directly which allowed us a chance to make amends, which I offered. So... More

Four of us dined here on a Monday night. We had a great variety of tapas with the toulouse sausage and black pudding croquettes getting top marks. The Tapas are well thought out and a nice size. One of us opted for a chalkboard special of macaroni with chickpeas and chorizo. It was very nice. Desserts were really nice although... More
