Excellent food & service

My B&B recommended the Tannery and I was not disappointed with the 3 course menu for 30 euros. I had the smoked salmon entree, pan fried salmon main course and chocolate truffle desert with a Spanish Chardonnay. The staff were very helpful and ensured I had a quality dining experience.

I was lucky to have dinner here recently for a special occasion with my husband. We booked into the townhouse to stay the night as we travelled to get here. Firstly the townhouse, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We stayed in room number 6 which was quite small but for one night you don't need anything bigger. When we... More

We probably had high expectations because of the reputation of this restaurant as well as the price. The place itself is very nice, bright, the staff was also very attentive to my gluten free request. We decided to take the set menu for 30 euros and the meal itself was not good and not bad, it was average. The desert... More

We didn't have a reservation but still managed to get a seat at the wine bar. We had a reduced (and cheaper) menu. The food was amazing! We'll definitely be going back

I will start by saying that this review is long overdue - given that my 40th was six years ago!! However whilst on here getting contact details so we could book my brothers 50th celebration for Sunday week I felt the need to say how much we all enjoyed it. The tannery was initially chosen a) because of its reputation... More

This was our first visit, we had dinner on a recent Thursday night. We started with the crab crème brulee (€12.50) seared scallops (€14) – both very good and came with interesting accompaniments. For mains I had Roasted monkfish (€28.50) a generous portion of perfectly cooked fish with black pudding, chorizo & chickpeas. I nearly sucked the tailbone. The wife... More

From start to finish this is a great dining experience in the tannery restaurant, a very relaxing and laid back atmosphere with staff that are professional and friendly. The food is mouth watering, The helvick crab creme brûlée is worth the trip alone, a main course of slow cooked beef cheeks with flavour ozzing from the plate followed by dark... More

OK so I needed to pick something special for my wife's birthday, a treat, a little bit of a surprise. With all the attention on West Cork I decided to head East as I told her to pack a bag we were going for a meal and staying the night. I booked the Tannery Restaurant which was also a bit... More

If you like to get dressed up and go somewhere really really special The Tannery is for you. The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful. Both the flowers and art work are eye catching but most importantly the food is to die for! I suppose the crab creme brûlée is the signature starter and the monkfish on the bone the popular... More
