Excellent use of old Tannery building.

I found this restaurant to live well up to it's superb reputation. The service was excellent and the food as good as ever I tasted. Pork short ribs were perfection. I can well credit the claim that they have the best cookery school in Ireland. certainly the best chefs.

Thank you to everyone in Tannery to make it possible for the hen party in short notice. Everyone was commenting that it is the best food they have. The service is excellent despite the large crowd. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This has got to be the easiest title ever as they are the words that headed up the menu card. Sunday lunch is an institution that normally passes us by. We are often too busy to grab more than just a bite from the fridge - gardening, tidying up, writing, you name it - these things take precedence. Sunday lunch... More

We were very excited to get a table at The Tannery as we just rang earlier in the day. Beautiful room and friendly welcome got us off to a good start. Excellent value menu at €30 for a restaurant of this standard. Thoroughly enjoyed by all, very nice waitress with good recommendation for glasses of wine to suit our choices. Our... More

We turned up on spec one summer's evening and got a lovely welcome from the staff. The food was fantastic - my OH had steak and I had veal, both beautifully cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the chef himself was much in evidence, asking if everyone had enjoyed themselves. The wine bar was also busy... More

Fantastic food! Fancy and filling. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Early bird menu also available and tapas bar downstairs is worth a visit. Booking is advisable as the Tannery is a very popular choice!

We had dinner at the Tannery last evening; chose the Easy Evening set menu, at just 30 euros per person. Choice of three starters, main courses and desserts. Everything was of a high standard, including the service and atmosphere. Will definitely be eating here again. Highly recommended. Martin D

I picked this restaurant as it was the top rated in Dungarvin. I was not disappointed. We got the early bird menu and the Thai soup to start was delicious. So many different flavours. I had the Helvic fish stew and my wife had the risotto. Both of us were delighted with our choices. The only disappointment was with the... More

Been there a few times now while on business in the region, and always a pleasant start to an evening. Nothing pretentious about the place (except the obscurity of the wording of some menu items - ras al hanout anyone?!), staff are 'boy/girl-next-door' informal without "sir" or "madam", always sweetly happy to pop their heads into the table's conversation to... We went to this restaurant following the good reviews we saw on this site. Service was fine, restaurant interior as well however the rib eye was far from the quality we expected. We were a group of 7 with 2 of us having rib eye (medium rare). The meat was a bit chewy the sauce was good. The others had... More
