OK so I needed to pick something special for my wife's birthday, a treat, a little bit of a surprise. With all the attention on West Cork I decided to head East as I told her to pack a bag we were going for a meal and staying the night. If you like to get dressed up and go somewhere really really special The Tannery is for you. The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful. Both the flowers and art work are eye catching but most importantly the food is to die for! I suppose the crab creme brûlée is the signature starter and the monkfish on the bone the popular... More

€30 for a fantastic 3 course Sunday lunch with tea/coffee. Our reservation was for 12.30 on a busy Easter Sunday and we had been told we would have to vacate our table by 2pm but there was no rush at all. Good service and surroundings. A good choice for each course, and for €30, I felt it was excellent value.... More

We ate in the restaurant part of the tannery on a busy bank holiday Saturday. Highly impressed by our waitress's knowledge of the menu ( didn't catch her name but dark hair and in college in cork). She was genuinely interested in our opinion of the food and could answer any question we had. Scallop starter was to die for... More

Our expectatoms were too high I think. Went for a family lunch on a Sunday. Was not busy so service was nice and relaxed. However the selection on the menu left a lot to be desired. I found the monkfish quite tough. I just expected more as there is a great rep on this restaurant. Will hopefully return for dinner... More

Had a delicious dinner here recently. Great staff with just the perfect level of attention but not overly so. Daniel in particular was so friendly and welcoming. Loved all our chosen dishes but the bread was surprisingly bland. One of the best meals we have had in a while - spoiled somewhat by the constant photography happening at a nearby... More

Had dinner here recently and was disappointed by the experience. Food was at best average and prices were high relative to other restaurants in Ireland. The wine list was good but overpriced .

I enjoyed the meal. Staff was very positive and helpful. Meal was wonderful and the interior was a very good surprise. I would like to visit again.

We had booked a night in the Cliff House in Ardmore and decided to enhance our trip by having a night in Dungarvan staying at the Tannery guesthouse and dining at the Tannery restaurant. Well if you want the truth I think we both enjoyed the night in Dungarvan more than the highly anticipated night in the Cliff House Hotel.... More
