Refined and modern Tuscan food

This restaurant is very much worth its Michelin star as everything from the freshly cooked bread to the desserts are magical.Do not omit the sole lobster nor strawberry soup.Buen appetito

I cannot say enough good things about the dinner my husband and I had here. It is a meal I will remember for years to come. First of all, we did not even realize this restaurant had a michelin star until halfway through the meal, but let me tell you it is very well deserved. We have eaten at our... More

The first time we came here, everything was perfect, the food, the service, the ambiance. The second time, we went for dinner and it was chilly inside, and the food was a great disappointment. I've never seen such a minute portion of fois gras on a plate and for 22 euro, it was a bit ridiculous. The pidgeon was also... More

Truthfully, we should have discovered this gem sooner - the ambience, the food and the wine all work together to produce a deeply satisfying dinner in the small hilltown (paesa) of Casole d'Elsa. The four of us had the Il Colombaio degustazione menu for 55 euros each. Compared to many world class city restaurants, this is 40% less expensive and... More

This place has a high rating, but also has the pricing to go with it. It is very similar to a high end NYC restaurant, with presentation being more important than value. If you are into the sommelier tasting your $150 euro bottle of wine to tell you it's good, then be my guest. Food was very good, service was... More

What constitutes excellence? Others could take lessons from this warm inviting country chic atmosphere. You are greeted warmly, the menu is presented and discussed and the owner and staff engage you as long lost friends even if this is your first visit. The tasting menus were excellent and even if you have food concerns (gluten) they adapt to any need.... More

Found it 15 years ago in the Gambero Rosso and go back there year after year. It is not that easy any more for me to find things on the menu as I turned vegetarian 7 years ago, plus I stopped drinking any alcohol back then, but I can still say that their wine cellar is one of the best... More

Wonderful meal chez Il Colombaio. We got the 80 eur menu that, from the beginning to the end, was very good, namely the "fiori di zucchini", the fresh pasta with lobster, the cold and hot foie gras, the pigeon and the dessert. Although the restaurant is very well situated, it has no view and the decoration is not "high standard"... More

Enjoyed a fabulous meal last night. From the moment we arrived we were treated with impeccable service; warm and gracious and charming. The food and wine were out of this world. In all of our travels in Italy this meal stands above all others. Very sophisticated menu. On the expensive side, but worth it. A fantastic find, and we look... More

We tried the tasting menu. The food was very different, interesting and good. The service was good. Pity the place was empty as made the atmosphere a bit dull... Off the beaten track but worth a visit if around and want a meal different from most in Tuscany
