Just happened by and we were tired and hungry!

Menu was all in Italian but that was part of the fun! Spotted "lingua" and thought, yay! tongue! It was delicious. The rest of my part had bruschetta, which was nice and garlicky.

Tucked in between two streets that lead to the Fortezza is this very atmospheric restaurant. We started with the Tuscany antipasto and then I had the wild boar & polenta which was absolutely delicious and my husband had pasta with sauce which he said was very good. Also tasted the wonderful brunello wines for which Montalcino is famous - can... More

This place looks like you went back in time for 40 years, which is great. You can't taste traditional local food, which isn't available in many places. Food is great. Staff is nice and friendly

This was our first stop in Montalcino. We decided to have lunch. We walked in and said two, and were seated. A half hour later we were given a menu. I got the feeling we were Americans and didn't count. We finally called the waitress and she forgot we were sitting right next to the bar. We finally ordered and... More

Their menu is small and not much English is spoken but the food is very good. It is a nice casual family place with the father, mother, daughter and sometimes 5 year old granddaughter there. Their pinci with sugo or with garlic tomato sauce are excellent. I'm also a fan of their Zuppa di Pane. The scottiglia (wild boar stew)... More

This place is wonderful. We Had the wild boar stew and roasted rabbit as well as delicious gnocci. The house wine was good and the waitress was efficient and patient as she had to translate the menu for us. Highly recommend!

Just up from the parking you find this nice little gem. The pasta with ragu was perhaps the best we've ever had. The depth of flavor was magnificent. Nice, efficient and very friendly service. Great for lunch!

We felt like we lucked out choosing this restaurant for lunch while wine tasting in the area. The menu selections were varied, with all of the usual Tuscan options available -- wild boar, roast rabbit, salumi, pinci/pici pasta, pasta with meat sauce, mushroom sauce or tomato sauce, etc., and the prices very reasonable. The bruschetta was wonderful -- one slice... More

we decided to take the blind leap of faith based on looks alone; it looks cute, how can you can go wrong with this? The answer is, you can. Happily we didnt. Food matched decor. Simple, almost rustic, kitchen, pleasing the palate, without ever venturing into gourmet territory. Service effficient but lacked even the minimun of spark of passion about... More

We were recommended to eat her by our hotel. We went for lunch and the meal was so good we returned for dinner. Had the BEST mushroom soup of my life and excellent pasta. All very good prices and friendly service. Would return in a heartbeat!
