Two for one

We usually stop here for lunch while buying Brunello at the Barbi cantina, which is just a few steps away from the restaurant. Food is always well prepared with locally sourced ingredients, particularly the meats.

Excellent service and food. I tasted a boar with sweet and bitter sauce, which was delicious. The wine is also very good and the place and decoration completed the scenario for the excellent lunch we had there.

After visiting the town of Montalcino, it was recommended by the people at Enoteca di Piazza Wine Room that we lunch at Taverna Dei Barbi. (We wanted to lunch at a winery). It had been a rainy morning and we were looking forward to a warm Italian lunch. The place had just opened for lunch and was not yet busy.... More

We had a lunch at Barbi after visiting their impressive wine cellars. That was probably one of the best meals that we had in Tuscany – not the cheapest one though. The food was delicious – made with heart and served with attention. The wine was also very good but that was to be expected; however, I think they should... More

We had just finished the wine tour and we stopped for lunch at the taverna. The food was very tasty and had great, strong flavors. I would recommend the lunch if you are doing the winery tour.

If you are in the vicinity of Montalcino, I recommend that you take the approximately 15 minute drive to the Abazzia de Sant'Antimo to listen to the gregorian monks chanting at this historic site. I suggest the 12:45 PM chants so that on your way back, on this same road, you continue on your heavenly trip with lunch at the... More

The only reason I stopped by was out of respect to the wine. Since the cantina was closed I decided to have a quick snack. It was the worst caprese salad I have ever had! This is obviously a place that relies on it's name and doesn't really value the true essence of Tuscan food. Over priced as well. Service... More

14 of us stopped for lunch during a day of vineyard tours in the Montalcino region, great atmosphere, food, service. Host and chef were excellent, we enjoyed a 2 hour luncheon we will remember for years.
