A meal with a view...and oh what a view!

It is hard to beat a delicious Italian meal served while you sit out overlooking the sloping Tuscan hills and towns. We stopped here on our way to Montalcino and the wine bars. Perhaps we should have had the tasting menu as other tables seemed to be doing, but our lunch was a bit disappointing. We felt rushed and I feel that the value for the money was better elsewhere in the region. My wife asked for insalate mists and was firmly told that it was only available on the tasting menu. A... This place is also a B&B, located just outside of town (<1 kilometer), it overlooks the hills of the country and has ample shaded parking. We dined outdoors, but they also have indoor dining that shares the view. It's wonderful that the tables are turned so you can both enjoy the scenery. They had a beautiful and very unusual wine... The food was amazing. The bread, the ham, the mozzarella, the wine.. Everything tasted great. The view is gorgeous. I recommend this restaurant for everyone who comes to Montalcino.

We stumbled upon this place just off the main road to Montalcino from Pienza. We arrived a little early as they were setting up for lunch but were friendly and welcoming and we booked for an hour and half later after we had wondered round the beautiful hilltop town of Montalcino to build up an appetitie. We returned with our... More

An absolute must to visit for lunch if visiting Montalcino (must book ahead as well). It's on the road into Montalcino from the south - about a km outside - and well signposted. Not many tables. Outstanding views. Delicious food too, we had bruschetta, spaghetti with goats cheese, duck. Efficient service. They also seem to have a B and B.

The restaurant is in a high position overviewing a vast valley area. The view is beautiful. We dine inside since it was chilli and likely to rain. The food is good but pricey.

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of the hotel in Monteriggioni. We've asked for something with very good food, but not in the most touristic area. So, we found ourselves on the hill, in front of old stone mansion overlooking Val d'Orcia. The view is magnificent! The food is very good, I could recommend meat dishes, mainly. We had... More

Lunch at Boccon Di Vino was a wonderful treat. We sat outside and enjoyed a breathtaking view of Val D'Orcia. They have the most wonderful Wine list in a beautiful leather bound album with vintage labels (photo attached). This family run restaurant offers delicious dishes and warm wonderful service. Marina was attentive and friendly. Everything we sampled was memorable. One... More

I've been to the many restaurants in NY and Los Angeles yet I appreciate none of them more than this GEM in Tuscany. I've been many times and it's better every time. The food is amazing, the view seems to look out over ALL of Tuscany and the family atmosphere is incredibly inviting. Bravo.
