Charming village lovely restaurant

We were recommended to visit this restaurant and we weren't disappointed. It's tucked away on a little square - quite a steep walk up from the car park but worth it. What a superb place to eat, there is a wine-bar next door and the setting is gorgeous. The service was excellent our waitress really deserves to be acknowledged and she chose a wonderful Montalcino red to go with dinner. The pinci with rooster sauce was delicious, the meat came cooked exactly as ordered and melted in the mouth and dessert... More

We went to il Leccio last december with friends from Montalcino. The location is very charming in the small hamlet of Sant'Angelo in Colle (still in Montalcino). The restaurant itself is also beautiful within an ancient building restored with attention to details etc. Food was excellent - which is the most important part of course!

The absolute highlight of the meal was the poached pear in red wine sauce. The sauce was phenomenal - tasted like wine, but without the acidity.

We found it on tripadvisor, tried it and returned the day after. If you are looking for a perfect tuscan food experience, this is the place: we had Pici with Cockerel ragout, Pici with Bacon and Kale, a great antipasto toscano and Ribollita Soup. Don't miss their wine: delicious!

We had the Bruschetta with tomatoes, Bistecca Fiorentina with spinach and roasted potatoes and a Brunello. The food was fantastic and the service was very good. Great location in the center of an old medival village.

We drove out here from where we were staying in Montalcino and it was well worth the drive. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. One of the wait staff brought out a huge mushroom which we all had a look at... this encouraged us to speak to the other diners which added alot to our experience there.
