Still a favorite

We have travelled to Tuscany five years now. Each time we are near Montalcino we can't wait to go back to Il Leccio. Try the Ravioli and fried zucchini flowers. Always a memorable experience for lunch.

Nice quiet location in a Piazza in the little village of Sant Angelo in Colle is Trattoria Il Lecceo situated close to their neighbour restaurant Trattoria Il Pozzo. The two first dishes was absolutely stunning: Soft and smooth Spinachi Pudding in a soft Pecorino Sauce and after that an absolutely marvelous Homemade Ravioli. for Main Course the Chicken with fried... We had a wonderful lunch at this charming restaurant at an outside table. Good service brought us excellent food including crostini nero with vin santo sauce, breaded lamb with fried courgette flowers, veal, and pork with apricots and almonds. A memorable meal - would love to return.

We stopped at this beautiful restaurant for lunch after a morning of visiting different towns in the region. We ordered most of the appetizers on the menu and each one was done perfectly. We also had delicious macaroni verde, ravioli and gnocchi and each was delicious. The selection of wines was excellent and the staff was professional and helpful.

This place serves gourmet food at quite an advanced level using local recipies. The service is good and you feel being taken care of. To be sure to get a table - make a reservation.

Great dinner in a beautiful little village! Found the food to be slightly more 'contemporary' italian than others in area which I really appreciated!!

We drove to Sant’Angelo in Colle from Montalcino specifically to try this restaurant based on many positive recommendations on Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet. Honestly, the restaurant was okay but not great for the expensive prices. Maybe our expectations were too high? A review in Lonely Planet made it sound like the chef is walking around picking fresh vegetables and... More

This is my second time in Montalcino and I made a point of going back to this place. We had lunch and then dinner the next night, both visits leaving us all marvelling at the variety of foods. Not a single dish was anything less than excellent. The appetisers, in particular, are fabulous, and if you can, take courgette flowers... More
