We really enjoyed the loving preparation of the food here and the careful attention of Roberto at this quaint restaurant in the medieval city of Montalcino. I told Roberto how much I wanted to spend on a bottle of wine and both nights he made a perfect suggestion from the list of Brunellos available to enjoy with our fresh and... More

The Restaurant owned by Antonio and Roberta as the name plate outside suggests, is a very cozy place with an unmatched personalized service.Even the simplest of food we ordered had a distinct, pleasing personality. A must-visit place if you like fine food but affordable price and all served with a smile. Don't look for any view as there is none.Nice... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local of Montalcino, and was a nice break from fancy type local Tuscan restaurants with serious menus, a good chance to try the local kitchen almost as it is cooked at home, in this family restaurant. The wine list had a nice selection of Brunellos - all priced reasonably. Kids also enjoyed the food,... More

Small, cosy restaurant with tasty food, wine and friendly service. I was there for second time after 3 years and my feeling was the same like before. Nice chance to try Tuscany cuisine and wine.

We were in Montalcino around the lunch time hour and chose this place to eat after all the reviews that I had read. When we walked in we saw people whom I assumed where locals which is always a good sign. We ordered our food and the meat place was very tasty. Our food was good but not great. The... More

We were at the local Bio store choosing between some different wines, and after some nice conversation asked for a recommendation for lunch. She gave us two that she liked - one just down the street and another, Re di Macchia, a few blocks away. We arrived and found a table just 10 minutes past one (one is the "official"... More

This is the restaurant in Montalcino where the local people go and to me and my friends it was a very important reference. We were advised to book in advance and it was good that we did so, because the restaurant is really small and was full on Saturday evening. Most of us were tempted by the really reasonably priced... Disgusting.... I've worked in Italy for several years and speak Italian reasonably fluently. This was an unusually awful restaurant experience. Not only were the owners exceedingly rude to our mixed language party, the pinci with cinghiale we ordered had clearly been reheated from earlier in the day. My dining partner vomited when we returned to the hotel, while I developed... More

Probably our favorite intown restaurant. Antonio is the consummate host. Had pasta with truffles, beef in Brunello sauce, salad, flaming crime brûlée. All very good. Reasonably priced Rosso. Quiet small restaurant on the Restaurant row. Originally recommended by our hotel about 10 years ago. We go every time we stay in Montalcino.
