Wonderful Little Restaurant

This a little gem in Beautiful Montalcino. Great local delicacies and wines of the region. Located down a little narrow lane off the main street. Great spot!

Although the crew is not the friendliest, the place is lovely and the food delicious. The tagliatelle with funghi and truffles was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in Italy. Flavorful, lots of mushrooms, and really the right amount of truffle taste. The wine list is also huge!

After a lovely day of wondering Montalcino we happened upon a little restaurant in a little alleyway overlooking the fabulous scenery of the hill town. The food and service were outrageous. From the appies to the main meals to the wonderful wine, Blu is a must in Montelcino.

This restaurant has perhaps the largest wine list that you have ever seen and 90% of it is Brunello, one of the finest and most expensive wines from Italy. Here the Brunello ranged from 30 Euros to 400 Euros with the average being 40-50. There were some exotic offerings on the menu that sure impressed us on paper, but disappointed... More

I wondered in here on a cold November evening and enjoyed one of my best meals in Italy (and in Italy that's really saying something). Just off the main square and down the steps of a narrow alleyway with great views of the Tuscan countryside, the unpretentious Grappolo Blu offers solid, straightforward, traditional meals and very wonderful wines. (and there's... More

My wife and I spent a week recently in Montalcino, a lovely Tuscan walled city. Montalcino is blessed with a great many fine restaurants and it was due to our good fortune that we stumbled upon Taverna Grappolo Blu, a short walk from the Piazza del Popolo. We had dinner twice at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The... More

nice staff and great quality, but simple cuisine. all dishes we tried were home-made and fresh local ingredients. we found many locals dining there. lovely selection of wines too and better priced than many of other restaurants in the town

Intimate restaurant with a mix of locals and tourists. Hidden off the main street which adds to its quaintness, but makes it a little harder to find. Pasta with rosemary was excellent. Like a typical American tourist, I asked for parmesan cheese to go on top and the waiter, who was also the owner, refused. Good for him. The flavors... More

We enjoyed our dinner so much that we returned another evening. I would recommend the pinci which is made in house. It is prepared with sweet cherry tomatoes and cheese. I'm sure their other dishes are good also, but I liked this dish so I got it again the second time. It gets busy so I would recommend a reservation.
