Traditional and enjoyable

Quite a walk, well a big walk! Quite a bit further than Al Veluu so you need to drive or taxi. It's got a view over the lake, but from quite a residential setting. The service is great albeit with almost no foreign language spoken! Somehow it's possible to have a conversation whereby you speak... read more

La Fagurida has the most fantastic view of Lake Como from the hills. Watch the sun set on the mountains whilst sipping on delicious house wine and eating authentic Italian food. They don't serve pasta & pizza as it's not traditional - order the antipasti and the lake fish! Cheaper than lakeside eating too!

Bad service, average food and no view. Staff are rude; chef adds too much salt to everything; signature polenta dish had no taste at all. Not sure what all the hype is about!

An extremely difficult place to find in an ancient village. A fantastic view of Lake Como. Known for it's meat. Attentive service, rustic ambiance. The driveway is extremely narrow so don't bring your Cadillac Escalade as it is too big! A well known local place to take important people to give them a taste of the real rustic Italy!

The menu is all in Italian, but you can't go wrong with anything you order. If possible, try to order the rich polenta and the roasted rabbit. They're scrumptious!

We came here on a Friday evening having booked in advance. We ate on the terrace which had a lovely view over the lake - it was September so the terrace was enclosed with picture windows. The menu reflected what was available locally and was cooked fresh. The standout dishes included roast rabbit, a mixed plate for starters (very large portions!)... More

The location of the place is not ideal. In a way a normal restaurant expected for walk-in or drive-by clientele will have a hard time with such a location. Somehow La Fagurida survives and doing very well. We were recommended by the hotel for a local style restaurant that specialize in meat. The restaurant is located halfway up the hill... More

We got off the ferry and walked up the steep hill to the restaurant. It's hard to find and actually in Rogaro (off ferry at Tremazzo wharf) and the signage isn't great however the food, wine and views were spectacular. The owners Ida and Antonello were gracious hosts and kindly drove us down to the ferry after lunch. Limited English... More

We visited this restaurant as we were looking for something away from the main streets of Lake Como. The food was delicious very traditional, lots of beans and meat! The staff were friendly and the view was beautiful. A little tricky to find, but not too bad! They have a sign the road, look out for it! Would return and... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a local business proprietor who told us this is an exceptional restaurant for authentic Italian home style cooking. It was so good we had to return the following evening for another wonderful experience! The food was exceptional, the ambience so beautifully rustic and well worth the climb up the hillside for dinner (first night... More
