Casual and Fun Dining Under a Canopy of Grape Vines

A nice young family operates this wine store and cantina carved into the hillside of Tremezzo. Walk through their "cellars," and at the top is an outdoor eating area, with long tables under a canopy of grape vines. Simply lovely. You can choose to be private, or you can look up and laugh and... read more

very nice location and excellent wine. However the staff were all over the place, running around, moving chairs, counting money, washing something. It was a very stressful environment to enjoy a glas of wine in. however service was nice and the redwines were nicely served with a decanter. nice touch.

We've been to the wine bar before but thunderstorms and very heavy rain forced a change of plan and so we decided to visit this wonderful wine bar again. Friendly, knowledgeable, staff help us select wines to taste and to accompany our shared plate of excellent local cold meats and cheeses. once again we learnt a little about local wines... More

Tasty, generous, cheap, nice atmosphere, we spent a wonderful evening. The terrace in the back is a dream place. Cheese was top quality. Huge choice of wine. We had a fantastic meal

Visited here twice on a recent holiday in the area and loved it both times. It's back off the main street in Tremezzo (it is signposted - and be warned the steps up to the bar aren't for the faint-hearted). There's indoor seating on three different levels and a covered terrace on the top floor too. It's all stripped back... More

We returned for the third time to this hidden, little gem in Tremezzo. They have a great choice of wine and very nice, small dishes and reasonable prices (try the piadine and the cold cut & cheese platter). They also provide you with a package to go if you are looking for a picnic somewhere at the lake.

We saw a sign for Cantina Follie pointup a narrow laneway up a very steep hill. If we hadn't seen the Trip Advisor Review we would not have ventured up. But it really was fantastic. The food is very simple, we just has a selection of Anti Pasti and a glass of wine. The food was delicious, and the wine... More

We stayed at the Grand Tremezzo and ate there exclusively except for our one outing to Cantina Follie, and it was well worth it. Our hostess was busy but took the time to be charming and was very knowledgable, steering us to a smaller (and cheaper) producer for the varietal we'd chosen which could not have been a bad move.... We had amazing time there. If you like wine thats the place to be. You can taste different sorts of wine and they are not expensive. Perfect if u go in a group u can get a big plate of cheese and prosciuto to share. Service was great, our waiter Mattero was super nice and very patient with 5 girls... More

We are so glad we looked this place up beforehand otherwise we wouldn't have seen it as it is tucked away. It is perfect for a mid afternoon, or midday platter, we had meats and cheeses with wine tasting alongside. Perfect when sitting in the partly shaded terraced area on the top floor. Lovely helpful staff, who explained well the... More
