Great authentic traditional greek cuisine, we ate several afternoons and every time was great, we never had the same dish two times in a row. Great fresh fish, baked potatoes and veggies! A must-see in the old city of Rhodes! Ask Mimika and Philimonas (the owners) for advice on what to have.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant and went back the next day it was so good. Try the calamari, the chickpea fritters, the tzatziki, meatballs, feta, stuffed aubergine - try everything. Its all good and very reasonably priced. On our second night we heard another guest mention that she had dined at Boukia before. We weren't surprised. Its a pleasant... More

Nothing I can add to the other positive reviews except my own praise. We ate here once for lunch and once in the evening. Various pre prepared dishes are available which are simple but make the best of the fresh ingredients. The place is small but was always busy with locals and tourists. Give it a try and enjoy.

Boukia Boukia (Mnoukia Mnoukia) was our best experience of a real Greek taverna as it should be. In Platonos Street off Socratous Street. You'll find hundreds of smarter, more 'designer', more expensive places in the Old Town ... and there are waiters calling your attention elsewhere in the main squares. None of that hassle here. The Boukia Boukia is an authentic... More

No one tries to entice you inside, there's no hassle, it's all Greek home cooking, excellent prices, view what's in the kitchen that day then decide what to eat (traditional way of doing things), it's off the main 'drag' so quiet, fantastic food, nice folk and there's none of that "pretending to be Greek" stuff you get at bigger places... We spent a couple of days in Rhodes as tourists, and were extremely annoyed to be collared every two meters by those bad restaurants only interested by getting as much money as they can from tourists, providing them the cheapest (understand worst) possible food. Boukia Boukia is not like those, and this is already a good sign. The second good... More

It's a home-cooked meal and you choose what goes on your plate from the items prepared for the day in the back. The options didn't look too appetizing so I filled my plate with as many different portions as I could and they were all...OK. Nothing to write home about though. The home-brewed beer was a nice touch, but again,... More

This is non-touristy, traditional, and the kind of restaurant I search for when traveling. You pick your food in the kitchen and it comes out immediately. Nice place to people watch off the main drag.

Situated on Platonos just off the main street. Its definitely worth searching out. This is a traditional taverna still doing things the traditional way. You are shown into the kitchen to choose your food which is excellent. The owner and her brother make every effort to make the experience perfect. Forget all the tourist places around the square and search... More

Next to a taverna called Yiannis, which looked fractionally better but not much and had some diners eating unlike Boukia Boukia. We walked past several times as we visted Nireas and Romios. The restaurant didn't have a homely feel to it, nor did it appear clean or welcoming. The tables didn't do much to entice us in, there was no... More
