You'll find the Marco Polo Café off a small street far away from the main tourist areas of Rhodes. You won't find someone beckoning you to come in, instead you'll find a beautiful and peaceful outdoor courtyard where they serve high quality international cuisine with strong Greek influences. The kitchen is downstairs and it is always a mini-drama to see... More

It was a recommendation from our first night and when we eventually found it, the man was a bit brusque but offered to take a reservation for another day as they were full. It was worth coming back as the atmosphere was lovely and the food was very good indeed, though a bit pricey. We had a three course meal... More

Our hotel recommended Marco Polo for our anniversary dinner which they booked for us. They said don't be fooled by the outer appearance or the fact that it is a hotel. Wanting to be able to find it I headed off the day before so I knew where it was. I found a door in an ally way with a... More

seriously. It seems simple but when you start in on the treats in the basket it's hard to stop before the appies arrive. Whatever you do save some of the plain bread for later. You are going to want it to mop up any of the left over sauces that you can't scrape up with your fork. The grilled octopus... More

We went past it at 5pm to check it existed and did wonder what we had let ourselves in for but no need to worry. Our booking was for 7 pm and we were the only ones for a bit but by 8 pm it was really buzzy. I only had one course but the fish was beautiful and the... More

This is a beautiful, unassuming little restaurant with a really varied menu which is Greek but with a twist and different to the usual taverna menus. The service was absolutely excellent, with good food and wine recommendations, we enjoyed every part of the meal which was finished off with some wonderful homemade fruit liqueurs which were delicious. Make sure you... More

We so enjoyed our meal at Marco Polo! The owner made us feel very special and everyone was very accommodating to our daughter, who is three and ran about with the owners grand daughter. The food was exquisite, we enjoyed every bite! The environment is beautiful and private. Wonderful experience!

The restaurant is located on one of the the very narrow streets of old town..while walking on the authentic stone paved streets it is very easy to miss the humble entrance door if you are not carefully looking for the marco polo sign. The kitchen is Greek. The classic taverna cuisine is elaborated. Therefore it is more elegant. The owner... More
