Avlaki isn't just about the Taverna, their good food, friendly service it's also about their beach. They have rows of sun beds in front where you can spend a lovely day, dipping in to the sea when too hot, snorkelling on a calm day with small fishes swimming across the natural reefs. Then pop in to Avlaki for a drink... More

This is our second trip to Petra and on our previous visit we visited the beach on which this restaurant is at the end of our holiday and wished we had discovered it earlier. So this time around we decided to make the extra walk and spend the days there. The Aviaki is typically Greek and has the usual treats... More

Back to Lesvos again for our 6th visit, we usually lunch here, and this year was no exception. Slightly off the beaten track, but well worth the effort to find. It's got it all, good food, good service, good welcome, fee sunbeds for customers, a secluded beach of its own - a real gem. We usually have fish here -... More

If there is such a thing as a "madding crowd" in Petra then the beach by the Avlaki is far from it! Located round the headland by the Alma Hotel towards Anaxsos this is a nice gently shelving beach offering a more relaxed experience because unlike the main Petra "strip" it is away from the main road. The 10-15 minute... More

There are two places to eat on the beach by Alma hotel, but Avlaki is by far the nicest. Grab a sun bed, order a frappé or a meal and enjoy the beautiful view towards the sea.
