Mixed experience

We were 7 persons with different feelings about this restaurant. The owner can come across as a bit too clever for his own good (patronising). The service was a bit slow at times, but on the whole the food was decent enough quality. The quality price is very good, the meal was very cheap compared... read more

Barko is a restaurant to look for, since it is away from the main area, easy to find if you are determined and only a short, ten minute, walk. Very inexpensive, favoured by locals Take the main road leading North out of the centre of Ademas, towards Plaka (it passes by the Post office and a number of shops and... More

We used Barko's 2 or 3 times during 10 days stay. Standarf tavern food ibut nicely cooked and no patronising from the staff if you are not knowledgable about greek food. Well worth a visit and convenient for Adamas just a little way along the road tp Plaka

Delicious restaurant tucked up several blocks north of the waterfront on the road to Plaka. Totally worth the walk, quiet atmosphere, outdoor tables in a beautiful yard with shielding from the wind, delicious food at good prices. No hockers outside trying to pull tourists in. The lamb in the oven is especially good, as are the chickpea balls. We'd heard... More

Very bad service, since we stepped in no one came to welcome us or show us a table, we had to stand there and simply choose one. Entries were over spiced, not in the way that they had to much seasoning, but has if someone dropped the pepper jar in them. Main course was really small we left the restaurant... More

Seems like to eat at granmamanopulos kitchen. Cosy and genuine. Nice hosts, give it a try and let your tastes explore greek cuisine under a grape pergola (good in windy days). Enjoy!!

My mum and I loved Barko so much we went back a second time which we don't like doing because we like to try a different place every night whilst on holiday but Barko was an exception!! It has a lovely garden setting and great service. We got the chick pea balls greek salad and oven lamb and it was... More

It's a few minutes walking from the port/center of Adamas, and is in a very pretty garden setting. We were there in the afternoon and were the only ones there. We enjoyed the fish dishes greatly - the swordfish steak was especially good. Like the other reviewers noted, the dishes took a while to be made, but they were delicious... More

we went there for dinner. the place was full, quite busy at 10.30-11 at night and it took them 30 minutes to order and actually get the first dishes, salad, tzatziki, potatoes (oh wait! they never brought the potatoes because they forgot). food was just ok. SMALL PORTIONS but I am saying again, IT TOOK THEM AGES TO BRING THE... More

Even though the restaurant is listed in the travel guides it's not worth the effort going there. We got the recommended dishes - the cheese pies where more or less cheese less, the chick pea balls where tasteless, the tuna, which we were told was fresh, was so over cooked and dry that it was impossible to eat (and of...
