Good food but a bit pricey

The food, ambience and staff were very good, The bench seats were uncomfortable and it was a bit pricey.

Froggy's tavern is open 7/7 and is one of the restaurants of Alexandre Gauthier, chef of the famous Grenouillère. In this trendy place colored black and orange, you can eat several dishes à la broche like quals and coquelet out of Licques, pig and beef, served only with a - great - salad and smooth potatoes prepared in goose fat.... Froggy's Tavern (don't be put off by the name) has developed really well since our previous visit a couple of years ago. We enjoyed every element of our lunch - food, service (English eloquently spoken if needed), ambience, good house wine and price. Jointly owned by Alexandre Gauthier at Le Grenouiliere (also well worth a visit for a real fine... More

Went here last Saturday. Food Staff Atmosphere all excellent. Relaxed and very friendly as you sit on long benches. huge portions which seemed unusual for france but great for greedy Brits. Give it a go but book as it is often full. One word of warning.... careful with the coffee cups as they don't have handles. 3 courses wine beer... More

We have ate at this restaurant several times now and it never fails to disappoint. Went back for lunch yesterday with a group of friends whilst staying in Le Touquet for the weekend. We pre-ordered the Suckling Pig and it was just amazing! The staff are lovely and very welcoming. The restaurant is set in a courtyard, (lovely in the... More

Froggy's Tavern reminded me, in a sanitised way, of an Elizabethan tavern - long tables with benches, beams, exposed brickwork, meat on the bone! It is a different dining experience but one that I would both recommend and repeat myself soon! Service was friendly, efficient and informative (good English spoken if needed). The restaurant was full - a good indication... More

Arrived in Montreuil on Friday and decided to give this quirky place a go. Wasn't disappointed, gorgeous courtyard entrance and a very warm welcome. We hadn't reserved (wise to do so) but the lady who greeted us found us a spot at a shared table but we could only have it for an hour and a half. She apologised but... More

I went there last night with my wife and my daughter. We were staying over night in Montreuil sur mer in France. I tell you if you even live in England its worth just going to this restaurant and staying in the town for the sake of having dinner here. The ambience is super, the staff are just great. And... Food in France is good but the 'typical' set meal can get a bit much sometimes. Froggy's Tavern (not a tavern tho'!) is quite small, 40 covers, with some tables for two but also benches with tables to sit six where you may end up sharing with someone else. We got in without booking but others arriving after us got... More

Friendly reception, we were early and it wasn't too busy at first. Menus on blackboards at the table, wine list on reverse, prices very reasonable. I tried the bone marrow - huge portion - not often I leave food, but I had to save room for the pork chop - absolutely huge chop for me - whole chicken for my... More
