This is an institution around the area, established decades ago, having changed hands several times, the cuisine is still up to standard, although the prices have sky-rocketed in the last three to four years. Close to a river, lovely post prandial walking along the river's edge, and in the summer you can catch the fishermen waiting patiently for a fish... More

We had the New Year's Eve diner at La Grenouillère. The atmosphere is very pleasant, like an old farm but much more fancy and comfortable but still very pure. The diner was exquisite and with very small different dishes, all an experiment itself. It is really like a journey and discovery at each plate. The service is very nice and... More

We had lunch late november 2014 in this establishment. Everything was more than perfect: Starting from the entry where we were guided into the coffee room for an aperitif, to the dining room where elegance meets design and not to mention the highly exceptional culinary experience! If you are looking for an exceptional and curious culinary experience mixed with extreme... More

We had the pleasure to experience the 11 course tasting menu with wine pairing, with a supplementary cheese course (we wanted the full experience!) Our experience started with drinks and small snacks in front of a cozy fire in the lounge. Then we moved into the dining room, where the tables were spaced far enough apart so that each party... We have been there during last summer holidays with some friends . As I am native of the area I know the effort done by Alexandre Gauthier after his father to promote the french cuisine . It has been again a marvelous evening . The welcoming in the small lobby before to have a seat in the main dining room... More

We were here for Sunday lunch on 20 Ocober. It was about 2 years since our last visit but just as good. The restaurant is located at the foot of the Citadel of Montreuil sur Mer and you can reach it on foot either by a muddy path along the river, or down the hill through the fields. We were... More

Having read a very mixed bag of reviews on Trip Advisor - it seems people run either hot or cold on this place - I took the plunge and booked dinner for my husband's 65th birthday. We were staying up in town at the Ch. de Montreuil, where the night before we'd had a perfectly lovely meal. Both locations are... More

Contemporary French food at it's best. The place is definitely a building of two halves. The old part is warm and cozy and full of frog nicknacks. The new addition is glass and black, with a trawlers net of lamps and ties above you, a wonderful stage for some spectacular food. We went for lunch, and I got the feeling... More

We booked for lunch tasting menu and were not disappointed. Course after course of inventive flavours and textures, all served by a friendly (Geordie) waitress who explained each course and how to enjoy it, talking to us in both French & English The building is special too, with stunning views up to the Remparts & Citadelle, and even the toilets...
