French restaurant in a small village. High quality

If you are on vacation or if you have a short visit like a weekend around Montreuil Sur Mer and you want to enjoy a lunch or dinner in a very good restaurant the alternative is Le Cocqempot. Good quality in tipical french restaurant. It's expensive above the average.

Really surprising and delicious food. Great service and I thought good value for money. The food looked amazing with those caviar balls of deliciousness. Inventive and fantastic taste. The dining room is classically french and fun.

Very reasonably priced menu but beautifully presented, delicious food. The quality of the tableware and excellent service all added to a superb meal.

The food was individually prepared and served. Gluten free was no problem. Dining takes place is in two handsome rooms of the traditional old building. There is a tiny bar and it l is all very cosy!

Both starters (seafood) were out of this world however the sea bass main course was average: slightly overcooked and tasteless with very overcooked vegetables. The lamb was the French version of British medium-rare, ie overcooked. Nevertheless, it was all very nice and if you're there in the summer, the garden is stunning to sit in and it's an amazing venue.... More

Old French style décor, but beautiful food. Service is usual standard - very good. Would certainly recommend this. Will return. Montreuil appears to be a magnet for fine foods. How lucky to have found this food lovers heaven!

Been here many times as we stay in The Coq Hotel of which it forms part. The €28 menu this week had mussels served on spinach with parsnip puree (a rather odd combination), but the partridge was fine and the fruit salad (as always) excellent

Le Cocqemport is a restaurant well situated on one of the central squares of Montreuil sur Mer. It is the restaurant of the excellent Coq Hotel. We ate here on our first night and had high expectations of the food, sadly we were disappointed. The seafood filled pasta in squid ink was not freshly cooked, served tepid and rather dry,... More

We tried this restaurant as it was part of the hotel we were staying in. Overall the meal was good, the staff attentive and the atmosphere congenial although the menu is quite limited. I had the duck, to start, followed by guinea fowl. A very nice evening.

We ate here twice while staying at the Coq Hotel. There are two set menus to choose from. The food was beautifully presented and very good. Service was efficient. I thought the wine list was a little limited, not a great deal of choice. The only bad point was that they clearly had no idea how to pour wine for... More
