We had two reasonable dinners at Le Cocqempot during our four days in Montreuil. The menu was imaginative and food delicious but a bit pricey when compared to some others in the town. Unlike some of the other restaurants it seemed to have an unusually high percentage of British tourist dining and few locals. Service was slow.

We had arrived a little late in the day, staying at a friend's house so had not booked a restaurant. As a group of 5, we found everywhere was full, but finally picked the trump card when we arrived at the Cockquempot. They managed to find room for us and they made us feel extremely welcome and relaxed. The service... More

Small but useful wine list, not silly prices and our Vacqueras was fab. Food was splendid, lamb with garlic was divine sweet and tender and done exactly to our different likings. Poached pears with chocolate sauce and home made ice cream went down well as did fresh asparagus starter. Food 38 Euro per person, but could have been less with... More

Whenever we stay in this lovely walled city, we stay at the Coq Hotel and have at least one dinner in its restaurant Le Coquempot 'which is open too to the general public); We ate here most recently on 23 april. It was quite full, with both other British and with French customers. So a nice mix We had the... More

We loved this hotel - we spent 3 nights here for a birthday celebration and we couldn't fault it. Great breakfasts & superb dinners. Very friendly welcome by Bridgette and courtiuos throughout our stay. Well worth a visit.

Having eaten here a year or two ago, we couldn't wait to return. We weren't disappointed. What you get is beautifully presented food without pretentions. I wouldn’t eat anywhere else in Montreuil.

Had varied experiences over the weekend we had in the area and have to say the meal we had was the best of the weekend and one of the better during our stays in France. Good menu and wine list. My beef and her lamb cooked exactly right and the service just perfect. Decor could be a little dated for... More

We were staying in Le Coq hotel which houses this restaurant. It is in an excellent position, right in the centre of Montreuil-sur-Mer, so you need to book, even if you are staying in the hotel. The food was faultlessly cooked and served and was very traditional of the region and good value for money. Apparently in the summer you... More

I'm not sure why Tripadvisor don't have this as a hotel too, as we stayed there to our great benefit. Very welcoming, large clean rooms with comfortable beds and bathrooms. But the standout is the breakfast - excellent cheese, ham, and above all croissants, but something for everyone in a wide ranging French table. Really set us up for the... More
