Beautiful food

Was very impressed with the high standard of food here. The intricate starters were particularly impressive and the duck main course superb!

Reading reviews on Trip Advisor my friend and I decided to eat here yesterday evening. I don't know what went wrong, but the food was unbelievably bad. We started with soup - I don't know what it was or was meant to be - it was thick, lukewarm, a pale sort of peach colour and slightly sweet. I couldn't eat... More

The restaurant is part of Le Coq Hotel but trades independently too. So you can eat there without staying in the hotel (though we were doing both). The son, Remi, of the owners has now taken charge of the menus. There are two (priced at €28 and €38) instead of 3 previously. We had the more expensive, with scallops as... More

Thank goodness at last we have a restaurant that serves excellent traditional French food. As a cookery writer I find it very sad that France seems to have lost the ability to cook good home cooking. This restaurant is a hidden secret and I couldn't recommend more highly.

We both started off with pate de foie and followed by ram of lamb, absolument delicious. Too full for any desserts. A good first night's meal.

Always well presented and well thought out. Lunch menu great value and if you have stayed in Le Coq Hotel the breakfast may seem expensive until you've tried it!!!

We were staying in another Hotel in Montreuil-sur-Mer, but their restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we had to eat somewhere else in town. Many restaurants were closed, was this because it was February or was it because it was a Monday? maybe a combination of the two. So we went to Le Cocqempot and were pleasantly surprised.... More

Being in Montreuil on a Monday when most places were shut, including our favourite restaurant, Atelier 26, we decided to give le Cocqempot a try. It was fantastic! Luckily it was very quiet, only one other table, so we had very attentive service, possibly from the owner (who also speaks very good English). Every course was a delight. The squash... More

Would highly recommend this restaurant. It has a very traditional theme to it and the food is faultless. It has a little quirky side to it too. Good selection of local wine and good priced food.

Stayed here for 1 night over a weekend. Perfect situated hotel for a stroll round this lovely ancient French town. The rooms are uk 4 star standard without the services. Good firm beds which are huge. Breakfast was possibly the best breakfast for choice ever!! No hesitation in booking again.
