A Monday night delight

We were staying in another Hotel in Montreuil-sur-Mer, but their restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we had to eat somewhere else in town. Many restaurants were closed, was this because it was February or was it because it was a Monday? maybe a combination of the two. So we went to Le... read more

Being in Montreuil on a Monday when most places were shut, including our favourite restaurant, Atelier 26, we decided to give le Cocqempot a try. It was fantastic! Luckily it was very quiet, only one other table, so we had very attentive service, possibly from the owner (who also speaks very good English). Every course was a delight. The squash... More

Would highly recommend this restaurant. It has a very traditional theme to it and the food is faultless. It has a little quirky side to it too. Good selection of local wine and good priced food.

Stayed here for 1 night over a weekend. Perfect situated hotel for a stroll round this lovely ancient French town. The rooms are uk 4 star standard without the services. Good firm beds which are huge. Breakfast was possibly the best breakfast for choice ever!! No hesitation in booking again.

We had the 30 euro dinner menu, which with the carafe of house wine at 9 euro was pretty fair. Friendly and helpful staff. Goats cheese tart was very good; nice choice of main courses; typical and correct puddings (creme brulee good). Enjoyable typical French dinner which our daughters enjoyed with us. We'll eat here again next time. Recommended.

Yes it was good for a traditional, although somewhat formal, French restaurant experience. The set meal was €28 for three courses and was alright; Salad au Gesiers, Red wine braised rabbit & raspberry tart.Happy we ate there but also happy just the once.

The food here was great and the service really good. The food was a bit pricey but worth it but the wine list, I thought was just pricey. Overall though not pricey enough to deter me from going back. Definitely worth a try.

Very simple but delicious food (soup and quiche). Full of locals which is a good recommendation in itself. Great atmosphere and very french. Excellent evening out

We found this restaurant quite by chance when stopping for lunch on the way south. What a pleasant surprise! Traditional decor, high ceilings, calm professional atmosphere. We opted for a light lunch - and the entrecot for 14 euro was as good as I have had at any price. Beautifully presented too. The tarte framboise was simply glorious. We certainly... More
