Gorgeous garden; food good

Both starters (seafood) were out of this world however the sea bass main course was average: slightly overcooked and tasteless with very overcooked vegetables. The lamb was the French version of British medium-rare, ie overcooked. Nevertheless, it was all very nice and if you're there in the... read more

Old French style décor, but beautiful food. Service is usual standard - very good. Would certainly recommend this. Will return. Montreuil appears to be a magnet for fine foods. How lucky to have found this food lovers heaven!

Been here many times as we stay in The Coq Hotel of which it forms part. The €28 menu this week had mussels served on spinach with parsnip puree (a rather odd combination), but the partridge was fine and the fruit salad (as always) excellent

Le Cocqemport is a restaurant well situated on one of the central squares of Montreuil sur Mer. It is the restaurant of the excellent Coq Hotel. We ate here on our first night and had high expectations of the food, sadly we were disappointed. The seafood filled pasta in squid ink was not freshly cooked, served tepid and rather dry,... More

We tried this restaurant as it was part of the hotel we were staying in. Overall the meal was good, the staff attentive and the atmosphere congenial although the menu is quite limited. I had the duck, to start, followed by guinea fowl. A very nice evening.

We ate here twice while staying at the Coq Hotel. There are two set menus to choose from. The food was beautifully presented and very good. Service was efficient. I thought the wine list was a little limited, not a great deal of choice. The only bad point was that they clearly had no idea how to pour wine for... More

This is a traditional style French restaurant with elegant dining rooms. The menu is similarly traditional French but very well executed. We were there on a Monday evening when it felt a little quiet. There were a few other diners but we still found ourselves speaking in hushed tones. Service was friendly and communication proved no problem. Nevertheless, it was... More

Though the host sometimes needs warming up! Simple fare adequately priced, sort of soup + bread, and quiche

Delicious well cooked traditional northern French cuisine, including Foie Gras and guinea fowl. Be warned this is a heavily meat based menu, but if you are a carnivore you'll love it.

This restaurant reminded us of why we return to France. This restaurant has an elegant dining room and lovely food yet not too intimidating. We chose from the fixed menu and were not disappointed.
