Didn't seem to be too many options in town but this was a good pick

Had a dinner here while in Dornbirn. The service was great and great with kids. We had Fried Chicken and schnitzel I believe. Both were served great and washed down with some of the local brew that is made steps from the hotel. Fair prices I believe but we had just come from Germany where food... read more

Went here for dinner during a business trip recently. Since we spent the night in Dornbirn our local business contact suggested dinner at the Rotes Haus for its good and local cuisine. And we weren't disappointed. Food was delicious and tasty. I went for a Vienna style schnitzel, my colleague for white asparagus (since they are in season now) with... More

There are better places in Dornbirn for Austrian cuisine but none are so centrally located. Staff is friendly. Best things we tried are the Käsknöpfle.

Great place to eat, very old building full of charm. Menu is a little limited but that would only be a problem if you lived there and went often. Good service and romantic.

We've enjoyed eating here for many years. This restaurant offers a good choice of local Austrian specialities, excellent quality at affordable prices. Try the fried chicken (Steirisches backhendl) served with potato salad and pumpkin seed oil. The other meat and fish dishes are also delicious. Cheese buttons (Kaseknöpfel) is can be compared to maccaroi and cheese. Very filling. Order mountain... More

The historic landmark building from the first half of the 17th century is clearly the focus point of this restaurant. Stepping inside sweeps you back a couple of hundred years into a cosy and comfortable setting. Ceilings and especially doorways are low but protectively padded. We were a party of 4 without a reservation, but seating was not a problem... More

Delicious schnitzell, you should try it. It has a nice garden that you can watch the town square while you have your Mohren Brau beer, which is a local beer in Dornbirn.

Charming ambiance with brilliant food. The menu offers just the right amount of dishes. Located just next to the central church of Dornbirn with its special architecture. Try to get outside seating and don't miss to take a look at the rustic interior. Reserve in advance recommended

Sassy staff, the veal schnitzel is made from pork meat. The best meal is mixed salad. Better seating is outside. Dirty toilets. The disappointment

Food was simply adequate. We found none of our dishes to be especially delicious, and our servers did not seem to be happy with dealing with customers who spoke a limited amount of German (even though we tried our best!). It was nice sitting outside and people-watching, so for that we would rate this restaurant average.
