Delicious!!

Just a fantastic meal all around. The staff was friendly and helpful, the wine they recommended was spot on, the homemade pasta was a huge hit with the kids and our tuna and pork ribs were top notch. We had the pleasure of eating here on our last visit to Mal Pais and were eager to go back again. The drinks were delicious and the two guitar players set a wonderful mood for the evening. The food (shrimp pasta for myself and a rib special for my husband) were cooked to perfection and were presented beautifully. Our sever... More

We had a very nice dinner here. It was nice to go to an Italian restaurant that offered gluten free pasta as well as many gluten free appetizers and main courses. The ceviche and tuna tartare were fresh and flavorful. My main dish of grilled octopus and roasted pumpkin was both different and delicious. We had a reasonably priced Malbec... More

We stayed right across the street in Mariposa Vacation Homes (also highly recommended!) and Al Chile Viola was recommended to us by our local concierge. Hands down my favorite part of this restaurant was the service. If you get there early enough (around 6) you essentially have the place to yourself. It is a quaint little local spot, with the... there are a many great restaurants in Santa Teresa tucked around the sides of the road, and this one is the best Italian we had in Costa Rica. Amazing food, great atmosphere and service.

Loved the atmosphere and food. I had the house specialty, bull balls ravioli and was absolutely blown away. It was amazingly delicious as was the pear salad. My wife had a Mahi Mahi dish with artichoke cream and tomato sauce and it was the best fish she had on our trip. The service was very good as well. Highly recommnend... More

During our recent trip to Santa Teresa, my boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to have dinner with local eats, great chill atmosphere, and drinks. We ended up going to al chile viola twice! Dinner was so excellent the first night (we had fresh tuna steak and sea bass) that we wanted to go back and try more!... More

This is a simple place in the middle of Santa Teresa. Our hotel manager recommended and promised very good italian food. Restaurant beat all expectation. All food was excellent, and specially ravioli. Al Chile Viola can compete with any restaurant in Italy. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere, no AC. Highly recommended.

Discovered this lovely restaurant while renting Casa Mango up the hill. Enjoyed 2 fantastic dinners with our group of 6. Attentive & friendly service with attention to detail. Superb food including appetizers of eggplant, calamari, caprese salad & pear and pecorino salad plus main dishes of beef Gorgonzola & mahi mahi & homemade pasta. Well done Emilio & Luz!

This place was such a lovely surprise. I would never had expected to have such an extraordinary culinary experience at the beach in Costa Rica. However the menu is of such an outstanding quality as the mixture of flavors offered in each plate we tasted. For starters we had the calamari fried with paiko, absolutely great, specially the tomato sauce... More
