It's not a 5 star restaurant but it has 5 star food. You sit outside of course and it was hot in August. I had stuffed fry jack for breakfast and some type of a chicken for dinner. Great food and nice staff with affordable prices. Everything is slow in Hopkins and freshly prepared so just sit, be patient, and... More

Iris' is owned and operated by Maureen Oosthuizen, not Iris, but is named in her honor. Maureen and her staff put together an amazing breakfast. The Belizian Breakfast is not only a historical meal, but a delicious one. The "jax" are AMAZING! A bit fattening, I presume, but AMAZING! It's quick, yet relaxing and is an amazing breakfast!

Iris's place is great. The menu changes everyday (written on a blackboard) and you can find home comforts with a Belizean twist (French toast, breakfast burrito, plates with BBQ sauce..). However, this comes with an American price tag. 2 breakfast plates and coffee(French pressed) set us back $24.00US before tip. Whoa!!! If you are on a budget, head somewhere else! I... More

If you want to get away from the hotel restaurants and try local cuisine, Iris' is a good choice. We had pork chops, rice and beans. All fine. My iced coffee was a surprise -- delicious with whipped cream. Chickens across the road to watch in daylight, and resident cat action an added entertainment.

A small restaurant where you sit outside under a covered patio. The menu varies and is written on a chalkboard. The meal was fantastic. We had the seafood soup and the pesto pork tenderloin (with a side of salad and mashed potatoes) which were both absolutely delicious. We paid 50$ Belize for the entire meal, which was reasonably priced. The... More

My wife and two daughters went to Iris' to have breakfast and stayed four hours. The breakfast was great, and Maureen is a very nice and helpful person and lovely to chat with. Her children played with ours so that we had one of the most relaxing mornings of our stay in Hopkins.

My husband had the curry shrimp burrito and I had spaghetti. I tasted his first and wished I had ordered the burrito. But then I tried my spaghetti and realized I had no regrets. Both were more than delicious. As a matter of fact, we've been home 10 days and these are two of the dishes I keep thinking about... More

One of our stops during our last visit was at Iris's where we thoroughly enjoyed being in the heart of the village watching the afternoon roll by over some terrific jerk chicken, tasty seafood and ice cold Belikin. Looking forward to seeing you all again this week!

We had dinner and drinks here and spent hours talking with Maureen, enjoying our food, and playing with the kittens. The menu varies by day and is put up on a chalkboard. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose for dinner. The 3 of us all had different meals (Fish, Curry, and Chicken) and all of us left happy... More

Everything here was great, and we ate it all. Locals are amazing. Another couple took us here on our first day. Great way to taste the local cuisine.
