Strange name based at the Tropical Spice Garden. It is high up so not for those who cannot walk up hills ! Views are stunning especially at sunset but ensure you are well sprayed with deet as they do supply lemon citrus spray but it is not always effective.Food is fantastic traditional Thai made with lots of the spices grown... What made us decide to eat here was it's location. A little hut with an outdoor sitting area, everything is made of wood. The restaurant is surrounded by tall trees, and overlooks the Andaman Sea. Just amazing! We stumbled upon this place at the end of our Tropical Spice Garden visit (totally worth going, we spent hours there), but there... More

We decided to eat at the tree monkey based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed. With just a short bus or taxi ride to the picturesque restaurant we arrived. The location was incredible, set back from the road up a small hill amongst a canopy of trees. The tropical storm added to what already was a great atmosphere.... More

We enjoyed lovely fruit mocktails, and a scrumptious bowl of Tom Kha soup. It was 4 pm and we were hungry but didn't want to spoil dinner later. The views are lovely. The ambiance excellent. The waiters friendly and helpful. We had just finished tour of the Spice Garden and this is a perfect place to finish.

We were taken there shortly after having arrived in Penang for dinner. A great experience sitting up on a platform amongst the trees. Good food and friendly staff made it an enjoyable experience and would recommend for a vist. We called again later during the day having visited The Spice Garden which is next door for a drink and saw... More

A glorious setting to have lunch; we drifted through the Spice Garden, the end point is the Tree Monkey restaurant. Fresh and fabulous Thai food were served in a very tranquil setting overlooking the Andaman Sea. We ordered a selection of dishes (Green Mango Salad, Fresh Lettuce Rolls, Chicken Massaman and spiced teas). The food was beautifully presented. A wonderful... More

We came to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend who grew up in Penang. I was a bit skeptical at first, but must say this meal was amongst the freshest, most flavorful, well prepared meals I have ever had in any cuisine. The staff were friendly, attentive, and the outdoor location in the trees was very relaxing... More

Fantastic restaurant in the trees outside Batu Feringgi. Delicious tapas style and more substantial dishes amid beautiful outdoor surroundings. This is a find, and well worth the taxi/bus journey!
