Long Beach is a collection of street stalls surrounding the sitting area. It is located outside and offers many cuisines including Malaysian. In the area there are not so many restaurants offering Malay food so I thought it appropiate to add this 'restaurant' to the listings, although most would probably not class it as a conventional one!

Excellent dinner

Were here with my boyfriend, had some North Indian dishes and Chinese spring rolls. All of them super tasty and good quality, both of us were very glad with the dinner.

The long beach cafe has a wonderful concept: around the eating places over 20 stalls where food is freshly prepared are located. You walk up there, tell the cook what you want, name the table number and wait for the delicious dishes to be served to your table. All kinds of food are available: Malay, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Western. The... More

Having only ever eaten at a food court such as this one only rarely (and unsuccessfully), I was a little sceptical at first. My partner and I decided to walk around and see what other people were eating and make a decision from there. We were so very pleased as the meals that we chose (sizzling chicken and vegetables with... More

A short walk from Golden Sands Resort and I got to taste the variety and great quality of local food in Penang. The satay is delicious, the char kway teow is authentic, the spring roll is yummy, the bak kut teh soup is tasty, the teppanyaki chicken chop with their signature fried rice is a must try, the wantan noodles... The quality of food at this hawkers market is fantastic. If you're happy to sit on plastic chairs, walk around and chose food from numerous vendors you won't be disappointed. We struggled to spend more than £12 including beers!

I guess we expected amazing from all the ratings. We tried it on three occasions just to make sure we weren't missing something. It was ok. Dumplings lovely. Green curry looked dirty dish water and didn't taste much better. Springs rolls home made and cooked to order- very nice. Just nothing super special.

When you come to Penang, you come really to eat. But staying in batu ferringhi doesn't really allow you the convenience of eating all the delicious Penang delicacies that can be found in Georgetown! Fortunately, long beach food centre allows you the opportunity to sample some famous Penang delicacies whilst staying within batu ferringhi. Some of the must try.. Fried... More
