Average, nothing special

The Lone Pine hotel lives from mass tourism and it shows in this hotel restaurant unfortunately. Although nice location it seems the place dont take advantage of the fresh ingredients growing at their doorstep.

1. Fans are not working properly. Those that work, rattle. 2. Flies flying everywhere - on food, table, and guests. 3. same array of food every day - imagine staying for a week. 4. too few workers - used wares not cleared quickly enough.

Visited the restaurant to try the tiffin set lunch but found out that it is only available during weekdays. Therefore we ordered the satay and char kueh teow (famous local cuisines). Unfortunately the char kueh teow was very average, while the satay sauce was sour and tasted a bit spoiled. Being a local, this is a bit sad because penang... More

Good service with a good choice of food and really friendly and helpful staff. Again, like the rest of this hotel a feel and look of the older 50's period.

Food variety was limited, unattractive and cold. Apart from the char koay teow that you can order from the cook to fry for you there and then. Coffee was horrible, stale and not freshly brew to be served

Recently myself, husband and another couple visited this restaurant for their New Year celebrations. we decided to go there for two reasons1) the price included the beer, wine and soft drinks plus it was advertised that there would be a 5 piece band. The setting was very good, and there was a big display of food- especially for the dessert... More

We stayed at the Lone Pine for two weeks so that meant fourteen sensational breakfasts at The Bungalow. The choices of cereals, fresh fruits, cooked Western style and Malaysian style were many and varied. The barbecue nights were good value for money with their jovial chef producing tender meat and chicken satays.

I've just got back from here after a visit with family. While breakfast was great and had a good choice of cold meats, cheeses, egg station, curries, rices, cakes and hot selection my score is based on the lunch service. We used this service twice, one by pool and one is the restaurant the waiting time was very long on... More

The breakfast was excellent. Lunch and dinner takes awhile to be served. The servers were excellent and made great suggestions.
