Awesome fries and wedges

Wonderful crunchy fries and wedges served with creme cheese chilli sauce and tomato sauce, nice coffee would highly recommend to others. Staff friendly and pleasant.

Had the soup for dinner which was nice. Service was good and staff were pleasant. Its a little hard to find the cafe from inside the chateau. You have to go through a door which looks like you are entering a service area, then head downstairs. We thought we were going the wrong way, so went back to recpetion to... More

Rocked up here at 11.30 just as the lunch time rush was about to come in. Staff were flustered like they weren't used to the amount of people (3 groups) which seems unlikely - surely they have this rush everyday in peak season???? Staff were abrupt and couldn't get anyone seated. Cant complain about the food we had - nothing... More

This restaurant is on the ground floor of the Chateau hotel. Offers a wide range of food. Has a very good level of service. It can get very busy so bookings are recommended.

Dreary, dull, and terrible food. This is a shocking example of kiwi tourism. They need to sort this out if they want to compete on a national basis.

We visited the mountain on a day the Bruce road was closed so the Chateau was busy as was the cafes around it. However the staff member in the café was abrupt, sharp and unpleasant. I heard customers leaving and commenting on the unfriendly staff. In the bar part of the café, the staff person (1 only) was slow, didn't... More

Stopped for lunch on way down the mountain. Asked what the pasta was and told "it's on the blackboard" (at the front facing the other way). The Maori lady who seemed to be in charge was cursing "f..." at the front counter. Had our drinks and then left without ordering food as the atmosphere was awful with all of that.... More

This place is a great little hidden cafe inside the hotel. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and the service was fantastic. Tanya (Supervisor) and James were friendly, funny and provided awesome service. This place is thumbs up and highly recommended! They also do a big delicious breakfast. James makes awesome coffee too!

Choice of food quite good, something to please any palate and servings large. The venue is a little basic but staff very good.

It's average food, priced accordingly. Location excellent (adjacent to the Chateau). Service fine. But check your invoice before you sign off.
