Last Wednesday we arrived to the restaurant; the place is wide, looks very traditional. Waitresses use typical dresses. The restaurant offers regional food; the flavour is unique. You may order a wide variety. We tried 4 different, all of them were delicious!!

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as being the best in town. Food was based around Mayan recipes, however watch for the peppers. Most of the food was very spicey. I had the deer meat and it was a very good, mild dish. The prices were rather high compared to what you paid at other smaller places.

We had lunch here, the setup of this restaurant is quite big. They have done a lot to keep you cool and to keep the flying friends away. The food is decent, not really great. Service is not that great, constantly took quiet some time to get the attention of the waiters.

This is a beautiful restaurant and I loved the artificial rainfall to keep us cool and keep mosquitoes away so that we could eat outside under an authentic thatched Mayan roof structure. The food was authentic and service was friendly and efficient.

We live in Izamal, and often bring our visiting friends to eat in this very nice restaurant. We are vegetarian, and there are several tasty options available. The service is always good, and the atmosphere is tropical and beautiful.

This is the nicest restaurant in a poor town. This restaurant certainly makes its living catering to tour buses but it was clean, the service was good and the food was decent. The tour arranged the lunch so everyone was served the same dishes said to be typical Mayan food. I am not sure what they are capable of if... More

Our tour guide recommended this. We were on a private tour and relied on his knowledge. However, the lunch wasn't as nice as expected and I think overpriced. All the tour guides sit together and order from a different menu. I ordered rice and plantain that was listed under soup. It was simply rice with sliced plantains around the side.... More

I was very surprised by this restaurant. This restaurant was recommended by a family friend and what a treat. Great Decor, fantastic service, good prices and very good tasting dishes. The Tortillas are hand made and cooked over a open fire pit. We had the Sopa de Lima, The Cochinita Pibil, The Queso Relleno and the Deer Meat. If you... More

For authentic and really good Yucatecan food visit Kinich; after a visit to the beautiful convent, climbing the pyramid and a horse-cart ride around town, sit down to try out the fresh hand made tortillas, empanadas de chaya, papadzules, salbutes or paunches to start. There is a very noce choice of artisan ice creams. Comfortable, cool with very good service.

AS mentioned in other reviews, there is not a lot of choice of restaurants in Izamal...Kinich probably being the only one in town....If not, it is certainly the largest, as it endlessly hosts tour groups that come to visit the town. So you're forewarned if you decide to eat there. You're most likely to share the restaurant with hundreds of... More
