Fresh Juice

We didn't actually eat a meal here, but Miriam's sells fresh juice outside the restaurant during the day. Orange Juice, mandarin orange juice, carrot juice, as well as other mixtures. We visited them almost every day for freshly squeezed orange juice, and it was cheap. I think it was like 30-40... read more

It's a real mam & pap place; delicious food, large portions for a good price. She is located of the main square. Try her ceviche, guacamole, and empanadas de cazon & raya!

I was in Holbox two weeks and ended up here 6 times...had to keep coming back for more! The fish was incredibly fresh, delicious, and well prepared. The environment is no frills but super friendly, and the owners are so kind. I stuck with fish but had it prepared a variety of ways and enjoyed everything I ordered. When I... More

We went for a casual late lunch to Miriam's during our trip. Food: The food wad wonderful. We had the Chaya empanada, Fish tacos and Pork tacos, and the vegetarian (bean, cheese, pico, and guacamole) nachos (excellent). Everything was fresh, wonderfully flavored and well portioned. The seafood is fresh. Ambiance: A small shack, more like you local taqueria. Clean and... More

As many have commented this is your typical hole in the wall type restaurant. My wife really wanted to try it, I had some doubts initially, but I am glad we did. The empanada’s were very good, service friendly and the cheque small. This is one of the true local restaurants and I would have no problem recommending this place... More

Miriam is slightly off the main drag but worth finding. Essentially a small hut with a handful of tables. The menu is pretty simple with Empanadas being the main event. We opted for Lobster Empanadas (lobster being a staple of Holbox Island) and a fillet of fish. Both were simply served but very tasty and everything is made to order... More

We have just finished our first meal at this petit spot and could not be happier. This is our second last night on Isla Holbox and we will definitely dine here again. The husband and wife team were so welcoming to us (not so great at spanish) and patient while we practised ordering our meals. We were delighted with the... More

Holbox has an abundance--in fact, a glut--of restaurants with menus dominated by pasta and pizza. More traditional Yucateco restaurants need to be sought out, and of the few, Miriam's is the best. A congenial atmosphere, family-run, simple and cheerful, and serving food that is well prepared, traditional cuisine. We sampled many dishes over the two weeks of our stay, with... More
