Meh

We had high hopes of this place based on other reviews. The service was very good and professional. They brought out a celery confit to spread on their complimentary bread, which was creative and delicious. We ordered a bottle of rose which was sort of expensive and horribly sweet. We have been here twice and always had excellent food. We were always treated very well and the staff was wonderful. A bit more pricey than most, but still excellent. The pasta is the best and seafood also very good.

I live in Mexico and have been to ISLA HOLBOX at least a dozen times over the years. But I had never discovered Restaurant La Guaya is a "can't miss" place to eat when you visit this corner of paradise. Restaurant La Guaya is simply a jewel of a restaurant, easy to find, but sort of hidden away off the... More

It's a must-visit when we go to Holbox. Wonderful Italian-inspired food with local ingredients including lobster, shrimp and fish. Recommend the lobster ravioli and the bruschetta with bottarga. Great service and good wines by the glass.

We didn't get the full experience the night we were here as the power was out...but that didn't stop them from serving everyone to the best of their ability with big flashlights! I had a delicious seafood pasta that was light. Felt cozy and romantic. A little more expensive than some of the other nearby places.

We have been there twice, both times we were equally satisfied. The location is pleasant, quiet, spacy. The food was very good, however we had to wait quite a long time to get the bill after dinner. The service was average (it seems to be difficult for the employees to smile, with the exception of the owners). You also need... More

Previously known as Pelicano, we were very happy to find la Guaya. Friendly owners, good service, nice location and, by far, the best home made fettucini In Holbox and one of the best I have eaten so far. Reasonable price. A must go while you are in Holbox ! Enjoy

This was one of the smartest places to eat apart from our hotel. The waiters were attentive and quick with the drinks service. Our fish was well cooked and the bill was not too large. Good easy choice.

The setting is better than most of the other restaurants in town but that's about it. Caprese with tomato, basil and...sprinkles of dried oregano (and lots of it)? The pasta was overcooked and underseasoned and the staff were, although friendly and trying hard, disoriented. We made it trough dinner without making faces but will definitely not go there again.
