Our expectations were high.

We were recommended to eat here and the place was certainly busy enough. Nice bar with swinging seats. We ordered their signature meal for two which was a large seafood platter. It looked great. Unfortunately, it was overcooked on their grill. Most of the seafood was dried out and difficult to... read more

Fabulous seafood platter for 2 feeds 3+, we 3 had leftovers! Lobster, stone crab, shrimp, octopus, squid, fish and some mussels thrown in. The staff is a lot of fun wearing shirts with Emiliano Zapata's kinda scary picture on the front and "Viva Zapata" on the back for both the restaurant and Emiliano! Dirt floor, huge grill or parilla as... More

Not overrated, fantastic seafood, they have they're own boats and the seafood was so fresh. Hand made tortillas, you can watch them being made. Try the Holboxito drink, tastes like a great smoothie but has a little punch, (vodka).

With sandy floors and a bar opening right out onto the street. Viva Zapata is proud to serve fresh seafood dishes - since their owner is a local fisherman. Their wait staff is very friendly, conversational, and you can tell they like working there (say "hello" to Sergio for us). We enjoyed their large (for 2 people) lobster seafood platter,... More

This place came recommended by several people we chatted with on Isla Holbox, so we gave it a shot. Sure they have a live "band" and the atmosphere is fun and the tortillas are made right there in front of you, but overall the food was just okay. The highlight was the cappuccino, best we had on the island all... More

Just stopped here for a drink and some guacamole. It's a cute place & though we didn't have time to eat there, we vowed to return next year.

We waited around 10 minutes for a table and had a drink at the bar. Cocktails not great. Both got steak and was poor quality. Quite tough and only came with a few fried onions. Surprising that this place was so busy! Overall, I would not recommend.

The food was good, even if it was very spicy, and the price is about the same as other restaurant in the island. The service was a little bit slow, but at least the food was fresh and they have live entertainment.

Good lobster on grill, chicken, Mexican food. Service not so good but worth the wait. Pineapple mojito delish. Bar is always lively and best meeting place in Holbox. Just off the square. Not good in rain as only have about 10 tables inside. Home made tortillas.

This place has a really fun vibe and relaxed atmosphere! We walked past the bar and through the restaurant, right into the open-air dining for some live music, fresh food and a few cervezas. It was hot, and you may not want to sit too close to the grill (heat and smoke), but that's what the drinks are for! We... More
