The restaurant is placed close to the central square, from outside you can see the fancy bar and the zapatists pictures and decorations. inside there is a nice garden and often there is some live music. The dishes are refined mexican cusine with a good size portions.

We ate at this restaurant many times over the years and are never disappointed. The fresh fish, lobster, arrachera, chorizzo is to die for! Amazing drinks, wonderful staff and so relaxed! I believe our waiters name was "Cholenco"? He made our evening so much fun and enjoyable.....many more returns there for sure!

If you are looking for tasty and good quality food and drinks stop by Viva Zapata and relax on the bar with swings! Ask Mauro the bartender for a refreshing "lemonade" and he will make your day rock. Thank you for a great experience!!

We were at Viva Zapata twice this last visit. It was definitely better than when I was there two years ago and I would not hesitate to recommend it. The first night, we shared the mixed seafood/meat platter for two. It comprised arrachera (flank steak), chorizo, sausage, lobster, calamari, shrimp. It was about $500 MEX and was enormous. Both my... More

We went because this place had a good review in our guidebook. It lived up to expectations. One of the freshest seafood platters you could have, great staff and we'd recommend it highly.

Can't speak to the food, but the bar at this restaurant is a fun/mellow place to knock back a few, drinks are tasty, bartenders friendly. Watch street life go by while enjoying a margarita on one of the swings.

We went to viva zapata, which was a good experience. We had a nice table in the garden with a view on the kitchen and grill. Especially the mixed grill with meat and fish was enjoyable. The fish was very fresh, as the owner takes is himself from the sea every day.

Tried the mixed grill was terrible and over priced. My wife tried the Chipotle Shrimp tasted like ketchup on shrimp. Uneatable food and loosely margaritas. Avoid
