We go to Tepoztlan often and it has become our routine to climb the mountain and stop at Los Colorines on the way back to the center of town. After hustling up and down the mountain there is nothing like a cold Michelada and some guac. I am giving this place a 5 because of value for the price. The... More

They serve typical Mexican food such as ranchero eggs, chilaquiles, quesadillas, fried beans and handmade tortillas. Also, you can enjoy a fresh squeezed juice and cafe de olla, which is coffee prepared in a pot and sweetended with sugar cane cones or piloncillo. Los Colorines is also a great place to have lunch and enjoy a cold beer on a... More

I should have turned right around and left when they told me they were out of lemons. But there's no avoiding Los Colorines if you stay in this city for more than a day. It's very attractive and colorful, and your hotel keeper will probably send you here. Avoid it at all costs. The service and food were atrociously bad.... More

Los Colorines is a place to eat Mexican food. Don't expect fancy food with strange sauces and tiny dishes. You will eat plenty and good and at average prices. The place is nicely decorated with a lot of colours and strips of paper and the tables are also Mexican style.

Food is ok, we had a lentil soup and it was tasteless, the rest of the dishes were much better the portions are big. The decoration of the restaurant is very colorful, nice, I liked it. They do not receive credit cards, so prepare cash. If you go with your car, they have a parking you can use (ask them,... More

Portions were big, quality of the food good but I missed the wow-mexican flavour. I had lentil soup the first day - no flavour at all, then between the two we had the parrillada which was good and a lot, Chilaquiles next day for breakfast were good, not outstanding! Service was fast and attentive

Colorines used to be reason enough to travel to Tepoztlan, and has been one of our favorites for years. The food is still good--I like the enchiladas in mole and the chiles en nogada--but the service has turned decidedly perfunctory, almost as though the staff takes for granted the tourists from the US and DF. Colorines is colorful and popular... More

My favorite Mexican dish is Chiles en Nogada and they make an excellent one here at Los Colorines. Great filling, plenty of sauce, and all in a large pasilla chile, this is one of the best I've ever had. The other dish we had, Huanzotle, wasn't so good. This was also a pasilla chile, covered in a brown pepian sauce,... More

This restaurant has the spirit of Mexico, is visited by tourists and local people alike. It is full of color, as its name suggests, tiles, large cazuelas of mole, sopas, etc., music on the weekend. I love to go there, not for the finest, latest cuisine, for good down home Mexican cooking.
