I was camping in Snowdonia during March. On one of our trips to get supplies we stopped at the Big Rock Cafe to get some sandwiches and drinks. What initially caught our attention was the look which was more akin to a trendy London place than a small town. Inside it was busy but not cramped. Relaxed vibe. Servers were... More

For breakfasts and cakes this place is excellent, the coffee is good but make sure any syrup latte is stirred otherwise no taste till the bottom. Staff are lovely really great place

Just the best bread ever. Daily specials my daughter loved the dinosaur bread. I can't say enough good things about this place. Good value. Great staff. Just delicious now if you could move or franchise in north Devon we will spread the word.

We ate here yesterday morning and despite lots of hustle and bustle at the counter area where you order food, there was plenty of seating space in the rooms at the back. This is a bakery as well as a cafe so it gets busy with two types of customer. The "small breakfast" was filling and tasty, with high quality... More

Our family all love the Big Rock Cafe - from fussy children to veggie Mum & those with more conventional appetites! We love the variety on the menu - the smoothies are a particular favourite & the fresh baked bread is gorgeous (olive & sea salt focaccia, spinach & feta guanos). Spend some time in this wonderful & unique eatery... More

Attractive and inviting corner site eatery, with a tempting display of freshly baked bread in the window. Some veggie options but unfortunately items like, I think they were called guandos, one variety being chick peas, potatoes and curry spices, were not vegan as the bread parcel was glazed with egg, a shame as they looked lovely. Thankfully, other cruelty free... More

We had a week's holiday in Porthmadog and were reeled in by the awesome bread display in the window. Had lunch, coffee and cakes and breakfast here during our stay plus buying (and scoffing) our body weight in some of the most delicious bread I've ever tasted. I bought 4 loaves to bring home and plan not to offer any... More

Very popular rustic cafe situated about half way up the high street. Serves fantastic cakes, sandwiches and coffee. The Big Rock Cafe is a warm and friendly place, full of rustic charm ....and the food is all made on site to the very highest standard. No visit to Porth Madog is truly complete without lunch in the Big Rock.

Not the most quintessential team and stickies venue, but they serve hot tea, great big sticky buns, and so many other delicious looking things, I wish I lived in Porthmadog so I could eat there more often. Very busy at lunchtimes, and in the morning. Quieter in the afternoon.
