A very pleasant little cafe for good food without pretension. Home made cakes and interesting selections make this place a real stopping place for weary travellers... We loved the scones here, very nice indeed!

We cannot recommend the food enough. It was totally delicious, fresh, tasty and wholesome. The falafel wraps were yummy, we had to take extras home. Thank goodness we do not live near...I would be carbed out!!! sodas are delicious too. Really lovely food in no frills surroundings, just the way I like it. It's all about the taste ;). also... More

We stopped here while in Portmadog for lunch, I liked the layout, lots of tasty cakes and bread at the counter. Yesterday s bread at cut down prices. Which we bought on two occasions and was lovely. The soda bread was delicious. We had a wrap and a toasted sandwhich and chocolate brownie which was very rich and tasty and also a... More

This establishment would benefit greatly from a make over. Terrible décor, poor furniture etc., It was busy enough and the food looked ok, but truth is that if I had not been so hungry, I would had sent my food back. Won't be back there!

It looks tiny as you enter, but there is plenty of room to sit down through the back, the owner also tells me they are planning to extend. Great cakes and pastries, tasty coffee and nice staff. A lovely place to stop for a break while exploring Porthmadoc

It's a good idea, a Christian fair trade bakery and cafe, which a avoids being too in your face over the religious aspect, and the breads are lovely. Buts it seems chaotic. It is difficult to see what is available as everything is on top of everything else. The rooms are a bit spartan as well. I suspect they have... More

My wife, myself and our two boys popped in for a bite to eat and we were very happy with the food. I had jacket potato with ham/coleslaw and salad. Now normally with a order like this the salad consists of a lettuce leaf and not much else!! Not here. Plenty of salad and with olive oil in too! Beautiful.... More

When visiting the Portmadoc area, don't forget to stop at the Big Rock cafe in the main street. Good 'buzz' & excellent tea/coffee & cakes at reasonable prices.

The bakery section looked lovely however we felt the savoury selection was very middle of the road. There was a huge selection of artisan breads. The Christian messages on the blackboards and napkins were refreshing to see, meaningful and thought provoking. A bustling place with lots of seating. Medium priced, service medium, a little chaotic.

I was camping in Snowdonia during March. On one of our trips to get supplies we stopped at the Big Rock Cafe to get some sandwiches and drinks. What initially caught our attention was the look which was more akin to a trendy London place than a small town. Inside it was busy but not cramped. Relaxed vibe. Servers were... More
