We recently ate here while stopping in Porthmadog and I've got to say it's the only decent meal we had out while stopping here, the staff are friendly the food was good and it's very reasonably priced. Not much more to say really apart from thumbs up from us

We walked into the grapevine on Sunday lunchtime by chance and were served by lovely friendly staff and enjoyed a really nice meal, well cooked and presented. We returned on Monday evening to find the food excellent.and again really enjoyed the visit. As we were staying at the local travel lodge we retuned to the grapevine for breakfast this morning.... Had a very enjoyable night staff were very welcoming & friendly. Took our 6 & 2 year old in, a very child friendly place. The food was freshly cooked & as delicious the children's meals were lovely

Love it here! Food is great! Even the breakfast is great because its full of grease like you usually get in cafes! Been here a few times and also I love the jacket potatoes! Great service nice atmosphere!

We visited this self styled bistro/restaurant at lunchtime yesterday. From the outside looks nice, but inside a greasy spoon appearance. Tables not cleared and obvious quantities of food being left on the plates. The clues were there but being polite we waited, and waited, until loud female voice shouted from the centre cooking area, to say we would be attended... More

A great choice of meals at very good prices. The meals we had were absolutely delicious and the portion size was great. Theres something for everyone here and the service was fabulous. The waitress and chef were so friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is a must.

I watch TV cooking programmes, and people talk about 'honest food'. Well this is honest, hearty food. For an evening meal, my fiance and I looked beyond the tired , 'quirky' decor...and we opted for lamb shank as one meal, and a pork chop for the other. We werent disappointed at all. Took around 25 minutes to come - a... More

Ate on a Saturday evening on a night where the staff were overhead saying they were surprised by the numbers coming in. Service was polite and prompt and the food was very good.

We visited Barmouth but didn't want to have obligatory fish and chips. Through Harlech and then onto Porth Madoc the long way around as the toll Bridge was closed, we tried 3 venues but none were serving meals, we were getting irritable looking for a nice place to eat. We went into the Royal Sportsman who said no food was... More
