Outstanding experience

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions where we have eaten some of the best food we have ever had. The restaurant itself is a lovely place to dine and the service is fantastic with friendly experienced staff. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Dropped in on the Starfish last week as a last minute thing. A really good seafish restuarant with a goodish wine list. The scallops were excellent. I had smoaked haddock on a bed of queen scallops - the fish was a little bit underdonefor my taste - but the flavour was excellent. My companions had steak and the vegetarian dishes....... More

Langoustines to start; as they should be. Halibut was perfect with a crispy skin but the fish not overdone. Faultless. Wines really interesting and good value. Everyone had a most enjoyable meal. Service was outstanding.

Excellent fish and seafood dishes and decent range. Kullen skink soup fantastic not to be missed. Our group had some issues with eating shellfish but we found very good choices at great prices. The ingredients are all locally sourced and prepared supremely.

Had the occasion to visit close family in Tarbert and decided on visiting for an evening meal on Saturday 18 July for a table booking at 1845. The food, the décor, and the staff were second to none and completely out of this world. Words fail me as to the quality and taste of the dishes we decided to sample... More

We (party of 3) called in at the Starfish Restaurant on the off chance of getting a table. It was the weekend of the Loch Fyne viking festival but luckily they had two vacant tables. The food, service and atmosphere were all perfect and the table staff were always ready to share a laugh with us. We had a fantastic... More

Great atmosphere in this gem of a restaurant. The specials are truly specials and run out fast. I have enjoyed a seafood platter and the locally smoked haddock dish both delicious. Top tip? Book or you may be disappointed or have to eat later than expected.

Starfish is a small seafood restaurant with a very friendly staff. We visited at 6.30 and by the time we left iit was full of very happy diners. We ordered fish soup, goats cheese, olives and Haggis stack - all of which were excellent starters followed by Fish pies, Chicken in Chorizo and tomato sauce and grilled Haddock in a... More

We ate here on the recommendation of a friend and what a recommendation it turned out to be. We both had the fish pie which turned out to be the best we had ever eaten. The service and ambiance are fantastic. We would recommend that the Starfish should not be missed.

This is the second time we have been here and you really can't fault it. We phones the week before and ordered the seafood platter. To start we had scallops and a haggis starter which were lovely. Nothing could beat the seafood platter though, this was for one which we shared it had lobster, oysters, mussels, clams, langoustines etc. dessert... More
