A superb meal

We have visited Starfish several times and have never been disappointed. Although the place was busy and bustling, service was spot on - friendly and informal, but efficient at the same time - the perfect combination. The food was, as ever, first class - all fresh, local and wonderfully cooked and... read more

It is a hidden gem in a side street. It was a proper fish/seafood restaurant. There is a lot of choice with traditional dishes and more adventurous ones on the menu. Some dishes had an Indian or Thai twist. The monkfish with curry sauce was amazing. The portions are quite big, so if you are not very hungry get a... More

The Starfish provides a lovely intimate atmosphere, it's homely, yet contemporary, with beautiful origional pieces of art work adorning the whitewashed interior walls. The staff provide an excellent service, are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The food is simply incredible, freshly prepared with catch of the day from the local harbour only yards away from the... More

A very nice and pleasant experience. We were a group of nine people that went and we were all so happy with our food. I ate half a warm lobster with garlic butter and it was the best lobster I ever had. Other things we ate were mussels, fresh oysters and starfish. You need to book a table at this... More

We booked in here after speaking to other people that had dined there, we were not disappointed. Very good food, and dog friendly as well (well behaved dogs of course) Just off the harbour very easy to find, would recommend booking.

Great food, extremely fresh fish and other ingredients, amazingly well prepared. Quite sophisticated dishes, quite large portions, which is great for the mains, the desserts could have been slightly smaller. Overall one of the best places we've eaten at so far in Scotland.

Really a very excellent fish restaurant. We had a seafood stroganoff and a haddock and one of our party had a sirloin steak as they are not a fish lover. All well presented and delicious. Couldn't fault it. Catch of the day board was full of great fish. The wines were great too. Friendly owner and staff. I'd certainly make... More

I called here as part of my tour of the Outer Hebrides on the way back. I had booked ahead and was greeted by name on arrival which I thought was really nice. The interior is attractive and there is plenty of atmosphere. The restaurant was pretty full with people having a good time - obviously a popular place with... More
