Food and service were great. Good choice of seafood, all local. Prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

We went here on a special opening night in December. The food was as always excellent and the service very good as always. Looking forward to them reopening next year.

Always our restaurant of choice when we go out - the staff are friendly and the food is good. They allow dogs too, which is a major plus (although we haven't taken ours along yet)!

We visited Tarbert whilst on a sailing holiday. After getting the boat safely tied up, I ran around the village to find a dog friendly restaurant, and was lucky to find the Starfish. They could not have been more welcoming to us and our four legged friend, who was provided with biscuits and her own bowl of water. The food... More

Top notch lunch of hot and cold smoked salmon with a vibrant rocket salad dressing . I love pasta and so appreciated a chilli twist in linguine and mussels. Soaked up sauce with perfect home made brown bread and home made butter. My partner treated me to lunch on a drizzly Friday off and loved his seafood pie which he... More

Everything about the Starfish in Tarbert is just perfect. The staff, the food and the atmosphere. We went on Sunday night and it was so good we went back on Monday for dinner. Nothing was too much trouble. Make sure you visit this restaurant.

We arrived at 13.50 pm, shortly before closing, but were warmly welcomed for lunch. The special was Kedgeree which was excellent. The other special Cullen Skink was also good. There is a very interesting menu and I would certainly return if in Tarbert.

Just had dinner with my partner and we both loved every course! I had sea bass and he had halibut with fresh crispy veggies and home made tomato sauce - yum - felt like a plate of goodness! We managed to squeeze in a chocolate pot - magnificent! My partner had ginger pudding totally scrumptious. Just gutted that we only... More

We ate at the Starfish restaurant last week and can't recommend it enough. We peered through the window to see if anyone else was in there, and as there was, we went in. The menu offered catch of the day, and a couple of daily special starter and mains. The other half had the black pudding and haggis starter, and... More

Nicely furnished and presented the Starfish Restaurant is an excellent establishment. A large group of us sat down to a superb meal - I kick in with Scallops, which were plump and beautifully cooked, followed by a lovely piece of haddock stuffed with (yes I was on a bit of a roll) scallops. An interesting wine list meant that this... More
