A chance peek in the door by our skipper got the thumbs up - "it has a nice aroma and looks homely" All six of our party were very pleased with the quality of the food and caring service. Fish pie, Seafood Stroganoff, Dougal's Smoked Haddock, King Scallops - all cooked to perfection. If we are ever back in Tarbert... More

We called in on spec for a late lunch -enjoyed an excellent meal served by very enthusiastic hard working staff who provided excellent service. Great juice of seafood on display in the glass fronted cold cabinets.

Excellent food. Staff very friendly. Nothing too much of a bother for them. Pudding was on the large side! Happily exhanged it for ice cream. Would recommend booking a table as it was pretty busy.

Brilliant choice of fish dishes, and creatively handled - some non traditional dishes. We had scallops as a starter and halibut as main, which is a treat as it's not a fish we see much of. The service is warm, friendly with a touch of humour. Would go again if we are in Tarbert.

The waitress interacted fantastically well with our party. Despite only liking a small range of sea foods I had little issue with the food. I had a very nice chicken dish which was delicious and was presented very well. The pricing is fairly standard for a restaurant.

We try to have a meal at the Starfish whenever we are in Argyll. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the choice of fresh fish and seafood is excellent and cooked to perfection. The staff, despite being rushed off their feet, were as cheery as ever. It's great to see that it is still the the same friendly, enthusiastic and... More

Starfish Restaurant, Tarbert, Loch Fyne - after travelling from South America for a few weeks, I was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and service from this small remote village in Scotland - hard to rave enough about it - but I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Fresh flavours, friendly service and reasonably priced.

We've been here a few times now and every time it just seems to get better. The menu isn't too lengthy but that can be a good thing! The main menu doesn't appear to have changed for over a year but the specials board does offer further variety. We had a table of six with varying tastes, likes and dislikes.... More

Wonderful, fresh seafood. Visited with Australian friends who were also knocked out by the quality of the food. Great service means a special mention for Brenda and Laura and, not forgetting, Chef Richard.
