Cafe Barge serves seafood and vegetarian dishes tapas style from an open kitchen. The food is delicious and great for sharing. Each dish is freshly made to order and packed full of flavour. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from the Tarbert Sea Food Festival which was a lovely day, the food on offer throughout was great, I fancied a go at some Paella and seen it was available on The Cafe Barge, so my husband myself and our small dog went on to the the Barge, my husband went to buy the Paella while... We loved this cafe tapas restaurant. Initially we were looking for a good coffee and cake, so we ventured in and weren't disappointed. The barge has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. The welcome was warm and the coffee was great. You need to walk along the top of the barge to access the entrance, don't let that put... More

If you go anywhere to eat in Tarbert or surrounding area - visit the Café Barge! As the name suggests it is a restaurant set on a dutch barge moored up in Tarbert harbour and offers a quirky but comfortable place to eat. The owner of the café was very friendly and explained everything to us on arrival, we were... More

This restaurant, as the name suggests is a converted barge, which is airy & spacious & definately not in any way cramped, as some may fear. It is not, as the name also suggests, a cafe. More of a casual relaxed restaurant. The food is mainly seafood, with the accent on shellfish, from a standard menu & a specials board,... More

Myself and my wife were staying close by for our anniversary so we came into Tarbert for some lunch, almost did not notice this place but on closer inspection decided to give it a go as my wife loves shellfish and she was not disappointed. Cosy and informal inside with a handwritten menu, as I imagine it depends on the... More

Place is cosy and quirky, the owner is warm and friendly and the food, both seafood and vegetarian, is delicious. Crab claws and scallops were so fresh they must have been caught that day, my little boy loved the udon noodles and also the porthole with little fake fish :) A wee gem.

My partner and I were staying in Tarbert for a wedding and were recommended to try this restaurant. We arrived without a booking but were quickly given a table. The interior is very interesting and it has a lovely, relaxed feel while still being classy. The menu is a mix between seafood and south american cuisine. There is a large... More
