Fresh local seafood served in the Spanish tapas style, so you get to pick and mix which we enjoyed enormously. The owner was very friendly and very helpful with his menu and the local attractions. it is not cheap, but good food seldom is.

After a great experience last year visited again yesterday during our summer stay at Crinnan -glad to report not disappointed. Friendly welcome by the owner as ever and great seafood fresh from local supplier. Only pity only open Fr,Sat,Sun and Mondays so be warned -have a private party booking this Friday evening so will only be serving lunch until 3pm... More

Far too expensive for what I had. It was cold and lacked personality. The chap serving me was friendly. The young lady at the bar was also smiley, but the whole experience was sterile I would never go back there.

Visited at the same time as the review below, tarbert seafood festival. I was on the barge at the time, also having the paella, which was oozing flavour and packed full of seafood. What the lady doesn't state is that she was advised of the restaurant status of the boat and therefore they were afraid they couldn't accept dogs. Categorically,... More

Cafe Barge serves seafood and vegetarian dishes tapas style from an open kitchen. The food is delicious and great for sharing. Each dish is freshly made to order and packed full of flavour. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from the Tarbert Sea Food Festival which was a lovely day, the food on offer throughout was great, I fancied a go at some Paella and seen it was available on The Cafe Barge, so my husband myself and our small dog went on to the the Barge, my husband went to buy the Paella while... We loved this cafe tapas restaurant. Initially we were looking for a good coffee and cake, so we ventured in and weren't disappointed. The barge has a lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. The welcome was warm and the coffee was great. You need to walk along the top of the barge to access the entrance, don't let that put... More

If you go anywhere to eat in Tarbert or surrounding area - visit the Café Barge! As the name suggests it is a restaurant set on a dutch barge moored up in Tarbert harbour and offers a quirky but comfortable place to eat. The owner of the café was very friendly and explained everything to us on arrival, we were... More

This restaurant, as the name suggests is a converted barge, which is airy & spacious & definately not in any way cramped, as some may fear. It is not, as the name also suggests, a cafe. More of a casual relaxed restaurant. The food is mainly seafood, with the accent on shellfish, from a standard menu & a specials board,... More
