Evening meal

Enjoyed two evening meals and a breakfast at Scott's. The seafood pizza is brilliant and the dish with scallops was of a similar high standard. Good selection of local beers, particularly the Jarl. Excellent breakfast, Stornaway black pudding is a must.

whenever we go to Islay we spend the night before in Tarbert. We have never yet been able to stay at Scott's as they are always booked so far ahead. However we always manage to eat there in their restaurant. It is tastefully furnished and immaculate. The service is prompt and we always feel very welcome. The menu is varied.... More

Second visit and still fantastic. Both the food and service are exceptional, although only open on Fridays and Saturdays.

Ate here on Saturday night after a days sailing. Staff were very welcoming and the restaurant was tastefully decorated. The food was excellent, without doubt the best seafood I've ever tasted. I can recommend the chowder and the seafood pizza. There was also a good selection of craft beers and lagers to be had. I'll definitely be back for more.

The service was personalised and excellent. The food was cooked freshly, menu mainly seafood. I enjoyed the starter of smoked mussels with home made foccacia bread as an accompaniment. My husband had the seafood chowder which ressembled cullen skink and was delicious. Main course for me was sea bass - 2 generous pieces of fish with a tasty sauce (not... More

There are not enough words to describe how delicious the food in Scott's is. We had booked an overnight at Struans (the B&B above the Bistro) and had decided to sample the food on offer at Scott's. Booking is definitely advisable in this cosy Bistro on Tarbert Harbour. We ordered the Smoked Mussels as an appetizer, along with a bottle... More

I was in Tarbert overnight and simply walked up and down the quay looking at the various eating options before settling on Scott's Bistro. I struck lucky because (1) most tables were already reserved and (2) this is a stunningly good restaurant. I started with the tomato soup (a special) and followed with a substantial dish of smoked salmon carbonara... More

My husband discovered this restaurant last year and was very keen to bring me to try it. It was really lovely. Excellent seafood and the key lime pie was to die for! Excellent service too.

I went to Scott's with a small party of friends for my wedding supper. It was fantastic! The service was brilliant and friendly and the food absolutely lovely. The owner went out of her way to make us happy and I would have no problem with recommending this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Thanks to the maestro in the kitchen, I have really enjoyed the freshly made take away pizzas over the last couple of years. Ate in recently and was really impressed by the quality of everything - even down to the side salad. Lovely friendly atmosphere - thankyou (and see you again soon)!
