Awful, awful, awful!!!

I drive past The Dog every day of the week and decided to give it go on a Tuesday evening, having not visited for a number of years. I chose the steak with prawns and my wife chose the sea bass. The food came very quickly. My wife's food looked and tasted awful. The sea bass was still in tin... read more

Popped in for an easy lunch, mid afternoon last Saturday. Not very busy so we didn't have any problems with waiting times that other reviewers have commented on. The girl behind the bar and the waitress were both polite and pleasant. The menu and the specials board were exactly the same that you see in all Marston's pubs and is... More

I now eat here quite often. yes it is a chain pub, but that doesn't take away from the good food and even better service. Some of my Italian colleagues were visiting the Uk and wanted " Fish & Chips". The Dog inn was an obvious choice. After initial giggles from them after i told them i was 2 Taking... More

Visited here with friends and we all ordered one of their specials - Steak meals for 2 people and a bottle of wine for £20 - couldn't fault the food, wine and comfort of this pub. Lots to choose from on their 2 for 1 me ue so it becomes a cheap night out, with good food and excellent service

In December 2014 we stopped here on our way back from Worcester for a Sunday lunch there were 7 of us .......although we enjoyed the food the service and waiting times were appalling I am talking hours not minutes. That evening I wrote a letter of complaint to the parent brewery Marstons as although the Dog staff were very apologetic... More

Had to wait ages for service, drinks & food. Forgot to start cooking the mains so 40min wait between finishing starter (which we waited the same for starter to arrive) had black new potatoes, mushy sloppy carrots. Never checked on us. Waitress always going out for cigarettes. Waited 20min for mains plates to be cleared so gave up and went... More

Had a steak meal here. meal was ok however I now find all 2 4 1 pubs only serve a meal that is worth £5/6. No way would I ever pay the going price. portion sizes have reduced drastically.I asked for Irish coffee... Yak. i had a measure of tia maria and coffee to top. ?? I always thought Irish... More

After visiting quite a few times and experiencing good food and service myself and my husband were totally disappointed today when we went for Sunday lunch. We arrived at 1.45pm and the pub was quite busy, we decided to wait for a table (wish we hadn't). Admittedly we didn't have to wait too long for a table and the drinks... More

We started eating here when The Fox at Chaddersley Corbett went down hill. I must say I'm glad. I know this is pub is part of the Marstons chain, but the food is excellent. Not once have I had a back meal here. Steaks have always ( Yes always) been cooked perfectly. The staff are polite and helpful- this is... More

Visited by friends last night and made last minute decision to go out to eat. Have not been to the Dog for a few months and on past visits often have to wait for table. On arriving there were only 3 cars in car park which suggested some problem existed. Perhaps the kitchen was closed ??? But no when inside... More
