Typical Marstons' chain offering....

Popped in for an easy lunch, mid afternoon last Saturday. Not very busy so we didn't have any problems with waiting times that other reviewers have commented on. The girl behind the bar and the waitress were both polite and pleasant. The menu and the specials board were exactly the same that you... read more

I have recently rediscovered this pub. My wife and I have now both realised we both came here as children and probably played together. Back then it was a little more up market. It now reaches out to a wider clientele with its menu and offers. Though for what you pay its great value and still a great pub and... More

I drive past The Dog every day of the week and decided to give it go on a Tuesday evening, having not visited for a number of years. I chose the steak with prawns and my wife chose the sea bass. The food came very quickly. My wife's food looked and tasted awful. The sea bass was still in tin... More

I now eat here quite often. yes it is a chain pub, but that doesn't take away from the good food and even better service. Some of my Italian colleagues were visiting the Uk and wanted " Fish & Chips". The Dog inn was an obvious choice. After initial giggles from them after i told them i was 2 Taking... More

Visited here with friends and we all ordered one of their specials - Steak meals for 2 people and a bottle of wine for £20 - couldn't fault the food, wine and comfort of this pub. Lots to choose from on their 2 for 1 me ue so it becomes a cheap night out, with good food and excellent service

In December 2014 we stopped here on our way back from Worcester for a Sunday lunch there were 7 of us .......although we enjoyed the food the service and waiting times were appalling I am talking hours not minutes. That evening I wrote a letter of complaint to the parent brewery Marstons as although the Dog staff were very apologetic... More

Had to wait ages for service, drinks & food. Forgot to start cooking the mains so 40min wait between finishing starter (which we waited the same for starter to arrive) had black new potatoes, mushy sloppy carrots. Never checked on us. Waitress always going out for cigarettes. Waited 20min for mains plates to be cleared so gave up and went... More

No way would I ever pay the going price. portion sizes have reduced drastically.I asked for Irish coffee... Yak. i had a measure of tia maria and coffee to top. ?? I always thought Irish... More
