Ŵe tried The Vine yesterday for Sunday lunch, although we had booked a table (which is essential!) we had to wait absolutely ages to be shown through to the table, even though it was reserved and empty, then wait ages again to order food and another age for it to arrive. We were told it was because they were so... More

Went late Sunday afternoon with family, eight of us in total. A table was created for us and the staff could not of been more welcoming and pleasant. The menu choice was varied with excellent vegetarian choices as well as great selection of fish and meats. The desserts selection was to die for and having chosen the fruit and but... More

Went to the Vine with 9 friends for a reunion lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. I hadn't been there for 20 years and thought it might have changed, sadly not. The good news, the Wainwright bitter was excellent, cellar cool, crystal clear and very drinkable. The service was also good with helpful polite attentive staff; it was a cold day... More

Called for August Bank Holiday Lunch and just average , 2 ciabattas bacon and brie plus chips which were under cooked. Can't say it was terrible but can't say it was great just very average.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary. Had a superb meal and with Gourmet Membership extremely good value for money. Service excellent. Pleasant surroundings. Would recommend highly.

A private pub restaurant well served with a good menu, reasonable prices, and quite tasty but not great. We were a table of 6 on a Saturday night yet they managed well with 3 courses each quite tasty yet there was something missing but not sure I could put my finger on it, just lacked that little taste that goes... As the pub down the road where we wanted to eat lunch was closed we decided to give the Vine another go. Mid-week lunch time it was very quiet so service was much improved on our last visit at lunchtime on a Sunday. We were offered bread before our meals arrived which my husband & I accepted but we both... More

Best 3 courses I've had in a while, well balanced meals, all cooked to a good standard. The atmosphere is very relaxed and has a refined if dated feel to it. Open fires are nice, as is the fish tank! It's well priced for the quality of food and booking is recommended, especially on a weekend. Highly recommended.
