I go here quite often for lunch and am always pleased. The baguettes are baked fresh and so come out warm, and the fillings are and also very tasty. Not just your bog standard cheese and tomato. Being vegetarian, my favourites are field mushroom and blue cheese or Brie with chargrilled peppers. I have also visited on a Sunday before... More

The food here is reasonably priced but very poorly cooked and presented. I only expect to get what I've paid for but it should be edible. My smoked salmon and prawn starter was tiny, one small slice of salmon and a spoonful of frozen prawns with a handful of bagged salad. The main was worse, a chewy steak that was... More

We stopped for lunch as it looked quite inviting from the outside, but inside it is just a shabby pub which they have tried very hard to transform into a bistro, but have not quite succeeded. Not sure why they think shelves full of empty unlabelled wine bottles makes it look like a bistro - they should have at least... More

My brother likes this place so ive been a few times (not through choice). The food isn't horrible but its not fantastic, in my opinion its over priced for the standard. The red wine is ok, again not great. The service was good and the meals are well timed, but if im honest then id much rather a better plate... More

After visiting with my friend would definitely recommend the French Hen. We both really enjoyed our starters and thought the mains where even better! We found it reasonably priced and the food was of high quality. Then we had a drink in the main bar so comfortable, the pub has alot of character. We visited on a busy friday and found... More

Normally when I go to this place I find drunk people making loud noises while I try to eat my 'lunch'. Let down by this place- it is close to us. Recent work on the place is nice, though that doesn't mean you should go there. Avoid this place.
