Very pleasant

Stopped by for a drink with family. The menu looked inviting so my daughter and her husband ordered a starter each. Beautiful. Looked like main courses. The mussels were divine. We asked if we could purchase extra bread to dip in the sauce. That was no trouble at all. Very helpful staff... read more

I can not fault the food here, it's always first class and delivered with a smile. The portion sizes are gigantic and worth every penny and more that you pay for them. On my last visit I had the mushrooms in a Stilton sauce and the mussels for my main. Both dishes were fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Many years ago this was a pub called The Woodman. Colm (Mad) O'Rourke's Pineapple Pub Company bought it and turned it into a spoof French eaterie, with signs picked up from all over France, and this was very successful. I don't know how many changes of ownership there have been since then, but the current owners seem to have lost... More

We decided to visit The French Hen on Beaujolais Nouveau Day as it coincided with my Partners Birthday and this is the most convenient French restaurant we know. We had booked a table for 8.00 and were shown to a tiny 2 seater tucked away in the corner even though the restaurant was nearly empty - just 2 tables were... More

I find it completely baffling that this place is well down in the placings for Stourbridge. We had another lovely evening: The drinks were superb, food was excellent and the service was attentive. Even a super range of single malts to finish off the evening. I had a Lagavulin.

Good food served in French style surroundings. Have only been at lunch times so can't speak for evenings.

We arrived at 14.15 on a Sunday afternoon, waited to be served only to be told by the bar staff that they couldnt take any more orders for food! Last time I will bother to go there, their were people behind us waiting who wanted food. They have lost business today. I am not impressed. It is not the first... More

Though the place looked quite french the dishes seemed to be more catered for the pub goer. I had "king prawns" for starters which were six sad looking 1 inch prawns in a strange sauce which I would not describe as french. However the main courses were good. Though our dauphine potatoes came raw the staff promptly rectified that.
