Adele and her team provided us with excellent service and superb food. Very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a nice relaxing evening with the wife. Food was average in my opinion and something that I could have cooked myself. When going to a French restaurant you almost expect something special and my beef burgundy was average. That's not to say it was un pleasant but it wasn't amazing. The food was hot and portions are generous but... More

My son asked for a medium rare sirloin it was not pink at all, he sent it back which they were fine with, I chose the tournados rossini the most expensive main, I ordered it medium, it was a lovely piece... Went here twice in 2 weeks and had similar experiences nothing bad but just ok the service was slow having to wait a while to be asked for drinks , food came out at a reasonable time but nothing to rave about and doubt if we would go back with much better choices a short decent away

Arrived on time, stated that we was there, ordered drinks but had to wait over 3\4hr before table was ready. The food was of cheap poor quality, the pre starter (slice bread roll with oil ) might has well been cheap engine oil because it left a dry pppp residue inside the mouth. the mussels where of those you buy... Visited on the off chance and ordered the pie of the day and the wife had a chicken baguette. Pie was tasty but incredibly small with very little filling (4 mouthfuls). The wife's chicken on the baguette was burnt and you could taste the charred burnt taste. We complained and it was replaced but the whole thing had no taste... More

We have eaten in the bar on previous occasions and the baguettes are very good. On Sunday we took friends into the restaurant and ordered Sunday lunch. 2 well done and one medium beef ..... All the same when they arrived. The sprouts and the carrots were hard and the roasters lacked crisp and crunch, we did inform the waitress... More

Recent meal for four friends for a Monday lunch at The French Hen was a mixed bag of comments. Homemade vegetable soup was good. The chicken and bacon with salad poor and most of the bacon bits and chicken were left and only the salad eaten. Three of us had the haddock fish which was ok but not outstanding, and... More

Three of us met for a quick lunch. The restaurant was very noisy and we we put on a table very near kitchen so even noisie! Very attentive waitress who referred to us all as 'Lovey' brought our drinks fairly quickly but there was quite a wait for our meal. When it came there was a lack of finesse and... More
