Steak sandwich

Had a very nice steak ciabatta sandwich with a friend just before walking up Holmbury Hill with a friend. As The William Bray has its own car park and is situated right in the middle of Shere it can get quite busy but on a Wednesday at 2:30 it was nice and quiet and the food came quickly

First visit to the William Bray. Simply as follows, location-GREAT, food-GREAT, service-GREAT. Would have loved to stay longer but I will certainly be visiting again.

We went with work colleagues from Denmark and USA to experience a typical British village setting. The staff in the restaurant were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and very varied and not badly priced. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Set in a gorgeous village in Surrey this is the perfect place for a delicious Sunday lunch. The lamb was amazing, tasty and tender. Generous portions served by young, friendly staff.

Owner just sits at the bar and drinks all day long. Just felt dull the whole time I was there. Good was nice though and was nice to sit outside in the fresh air. Not really my thing but my partner enjoyed himself.

I have always wanted to go and eat at the WB, not sure why. The inside has got character and the bar well attended. We decided to eat outside to enjoy the last rays of the evening. Fish and Chips and Burger. The order was taken swiftly and arrived not too early or not too late. A good sign! The... More

The William Bray does very delicious burgers! The variety of the menu is good for meat eaters, but has very limited options for vegetarians and people watching their waistlines. The decor inside is classy and unpretentious. Would benefit from having background music in the bar area.

We thought we would pop in and see what it's all about. You couldn't miss the place it sticks out like a saw thumb in the middle of the beautiful village. Prices very steep but the beer was nice. It's not our cup of tea but would go back if had too

My son and I ended up here for lunch today. The house manager was banging away at his computer in the restaurant when we went in. Grey plastic everywhere outside and dark furniture within. Nice view of the village of Shere, with the oak tree an' all. We ordered two asparagus salad starters, an expresso, and Americano with cream, a... More

Not many places to choose in this beautiful village and we normally go to the White horse pub. Came here with hubby for lunch and pleased with their fish and chips - unlike the one in White horse, their fish and chips is very lightly battered and not so oily, almost like the batter for tempura! Bread was covered with... More
