Lovely beer garden for a Sunday Roast!

Food holds up here - pork belly roast was really good. Cod dish, as well. Needs help with service - got a tin of silverware with no forks, no napkins in sight, dirty menus and the girls never once offered food menus. Very nice outdoor space to enjoy the sunshine!

Wow what can I say, I have just got home from another faultless fantastic meal at the William bray. Admittedly it's close to home, however people always seem to be travelling a long way to visit. On arrival two tables of over 20 guests were eating, I was dubious about how long I was going to be waiting for food,... More

We were offered two menus to choose from for lunch with many unusual and interesting offerings. We chose the rump sandwich and there interpretation of mushroom on toast, the mushrooms were the best I have ever had. For both dishes they had selected different breads which worked so well with the steak and mushrooms. A great find with efficient waiting... More

Called in for a light lunch on Sunday. Very nice looking pub and excellent service but we made the wrong choice. We ordered the large size smoked trout. Being available in large or small sizes we thought the larger one would be suitable as a main course. When served we were disappointed. It consisted of 3 tiny thin rye bread... More

A friend and I had dinner at the William Bray last night and it was superb! The menu has some fantastic dishes which made choosing difficult. To start I had the tempura scallops which were gorgeous...so easily overcooked esp when frying is involved but they were spot on and delicious. My friend had the Brays take on a pork pie... More

Spending a bank holiday walking from Guildford to Gomshall, Shere is the logical place to stop for lunch, and the William Bray was a perfect setting and menu. More refined than pub food but with all the basics if that's what you want, we found the menu to be more than adequate and the food delicious. The bacon and ham... More

On arriving we were the only couple in the dining area. Our waitress was very attentive and patient with us, whilst we took ages to decide what to eat. Our meal was served piping hot and cooked to perfection. After reading others reviews we were worried however, we had a delicious meal served by a wonderful waitress ... very impressed... More

I booked this pub for a family mothers day meal. Unfortunately I booked are and could only get a table in the bar area, which was busy and not as nice as the main restaurant and busy with people waiting for tables. The service was a bit slow but but that was to be expected given it was mothers day.... More

I have had 2 good meals here, although it was over a year ago. Went back on a Friday night for a dinner a deux and was very disappointed. There were only 2 other tables taken and there was no atmosphere. My food was ok, I think I chose badly. The calamari was mainly batter with very little substance, my... More
