We were staying in Hay on Wye and were out looking for somewhere to eat. We saw the Boat Inn advertised on the main road and drove down a side road to find it. The car park was nearly full so we parked and went into the Lounge bar for a drink. There was a lovely view of the river... More

Ate there last night 28/5 beautiful mussels to start only let down by a cheap roll. My husband had the lamb shank which he said was delicious and I had the rib steak with Stilton snd walnuts. I have never seen such a huge steak in any restaurant at such a reasonable price .At just under £17 it was truly... More

Often call in here with friends for a few drinks and to watch the football and it's always great. The staff are really friendly and the food and drinks are great and reasonably priced. The only thing missing is some blinds in the ladies toilets

Great starter of devilled kidneys and the rib-eye steak with walnut and stilton sauce is superb and enormous.

We have eaten here a few times, friendly staff, large choice of food from the menu, food is always served quickly and quite big portions, lovely view from the restaurant of the River Wye, if you are lucky enough to get a table in there. Would recommend booking if eating there at the weekend.

Went for the 1st time today for Sunday lunch -on the recommendation of friends, to celebrate hubby's birthday and our wedding anniversary - booking a table was easy and friendly. Arrived to a warm welcome from the bar staff, who were friendly and helpful even the knowledge of what they sell. We had lamb roast and it was tasty, had... More

Not the most appealing of restaurants when you first enter the building. However, this is more than made up for in the quality of the food served here. The staff were friendly and happy to inform about ingredients or slight changes to dishes if required. The food was hot and was presented nicely on the plate, with good portion sizes.... More
