We thought we would give the Jolly another try after a couple of years of not wanting to go back. Big mistake! We ate there tonight and were totally disappointed. We started with bread and olives. We have never eaten uneven cut white bread and butter for dipping! The olives were very oily which were quite messy to eat with... More

Went has a group (x5) on a Thursday night without a reservation and seated quite easily as they did not seem to be very busy. Helpful waitress staff, attentive but not overly - a lot of choice on the menu, especially seafood. I had the Muscles to start and thought that they were quite small, but tasty - the white... More

Disastrous. Salmon overcooked, no sauce and mushy veges. Only one person in our table was happy. Not up to the hype.

We went with a large group. The food was excellent and we all really enjoyed it. The only down side is that for some reason they keep taking the glasses away. Which means that when you want a glass of water you can't find a glass. All in all a nice meal.

This pub/restaurant had been recommended by friends so we decided to give it a try. Access is partially via the Fareham to Gosport road and this can get very congested at times. I explained this when making my telephone booking and was cheerfully told that I should not worry if I was delayed. My sat/nav protested a bit at the... More

We went for Sunday lunch to this lovely old pub restaurant. We were met with a friendly welcome and immediately taken to a table. We were given menus and told about specials and drinks order taken . The drinks arrived promptly and our food order taken, despite the restaurant being very busy. The food arrived quickly, beautifully presented. We were... More

Mike the landlord seems to forget about his regular customers when the restaurant is busy! He is at times rude to his regulars who put a fair amount of money behind his bar. Mike doesn't appreciate the old school landlord values of recognising his locals and asking how they are or indeed thanking them for their custom upon leaving. Manners... More
