Sunday Afternoon Jaunt

Sat nestled on the harbour front of the Solent, lies the Jolly Roger. I half expect pirates to appear grappling for their bullion and hidden treasures before drinking their tankards of beer And sharing old sea shanty songs.... Instead I am enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon beer which maybe on... read more

Walking along the quay on a lazy Sunday and discovered this little gem of a hostelry. Just a couple drinks this time but the staff are friendly and welcoming & the Sunday lunches smelt & looked great so we will be back

Get a grip guv'nor! Your pub is in a prime location at any season. Why does it get 'bashed' on T.A.? Because customers realise you don't care. Your prices are too high for the standard food you offer. This should be the number one pub in the area, but it isn't. I wouldn't recommend you and your quality is slipping... More

Good food and atmosphere. Not the cheapest. Went with a group of 10 people and all went very well. Service good.

In walking distance for us a popular local pub right near the shoreline of Priddys Hard with wonderful views of Portsmouth and across to Portchester Castle and the hill. A view seats outside and quite big inside. They do gluten free things too which is good. Good idea to book a table but you can just turn up. Usually fairly... More

We ate here twice during our week's stay in Gosport and both times were not disappointed. Good menu, welcoming staff and good service. The second time we had our daughter and family with us and the children were provided with colouring sheets and crayons.

We had a lovely meal and although we hadn't booked there was no fuss or bother. The service was quick and very friendly. Don't expect fine dining but food was nicely served. We went back a couple of times and had no complaints. Across the water, the little boats sailing in and out making the view rather pleasant. We would... More

This is a lovely old fashioned pub with fantastic views over the water. There is outside seating and little shelves for drinks if you want to stand and enjoy the views. Can imagine it is very busy on hot days. Staff are pleasant and pretty efficient. One of the real ales was off when we arrived and there was no... More
