Very good

Popped in on a dull Wednesday lunchtime to find the Jolly Roger fairly quiet. Had a real ale which was good before deciding to have a spot of light lunch. I had the bacon, bree ans cranberry baguette wich was very tasty and the accompanying chips where home made and I guess twice-fried as they... read more

Visited on Sunday evening, got a table with no problem, extensive specials board, with a lot of fish dishes on offer, moules mariner too, I chose the filo prawns with chilli sauce, followed by Lamb shank, partner had the pate also followed with shank, starters were lovely, tasty, served with salad, lovely waitress and waiter, shank came with either new... The most UNFRIENDLY man I've ever had the misfortune of meeting! Stands at the end of the bar. Having a few beers with mates..... Boys will be boys..... Bit of swearing..... Was asked to tone it down ( fair enough ) Conversation carried on and we were laughing etc (not swearing) a little loud maybe. Went to order a pint... More

This could be a nice pub but our visit was spoilt by the mean spirited attitude of the manager and some patrons towards a couple with a baby. To ask a family to leave just because their baby is crying is unfair and an over-reaction to the situation. The catty comments towards them by some customers were un-called for. I... More

Came here for a family meal, the pub is located in a lovely setting. However , this is completely let down by the rude owner who stands at the end of the bar looking at everyone, while the locals make judgements on everyone in the pub who are not normally a regular. I will not be coming back here again... More

A baby cried! Shock horror! The parents were complained to and asked to leave. The attitude of management and the locals was disgusting. A baby will cry, thats what they do. It did not disturb me or my family at all and we were all shocked by how the parents were treated. Poor show guys! The parents of that little... More

We came here on bank holiday for a drink, the bar is nice and service was ok at first. This was until the owner of the pub asked a family with a baby to leave due to the baby crying for 1 minute. Locals then started to clap and congratulate the owner for doing this which was appalling to watch.... More

Last night with my wife went for a meal and really enjoyed it. We where a little early but the service was good and the food was excellent. Will be back in the not too distant future. The view of the harbour from the window table was also interesting

Lunch time visit with my partner. Light lunch so ordered from the starter menu; moules, deep fried white bait, calamari and tapas for one. Apart from the moules it was all dreadful. White bait soggy, calamari over fried and dry, tapas just awful. Bread was dry too. Partner said the moules were OK but to be honest I'd rather have... More

I booked in good time as this venue is very popular as it turned out this was wise as no more booking could be taken on this day. On arrival we were shown to our table by a very pleasant young lady. the table was set for the exact number that we had booked for. nine persons including one child.... More
