Warning. When you are paying £14 for a crab salad you expect something special.... It was very disappointing as there was so little meat. Particularly when the £4 take away crab salad in the butchers window up the high street had more. I felt it was terrible value, taking advantage of its location and hungry value. PS - cash only... En route to Exmouth, a group of 4 of us found this little place for a late snack lunch. As weather kind, we sat outside. Food, service very good & value for money. We returned a couple of days later to sample their cream tea. Again delicious. Would recommend if in this area.

Nice little place with an outdoor area in the sun. Cake was great, scones with jam & cream were huge & tea was nice. Recommend for an afternoon treat.

A group of 4 of us visted on Thursday 25th September. We also had a dog, the Tea Cosy is one of the few places in Budleigh Salterton to allow dogs. You can even take dogs inside. We sat outside, in the glorious sunshine. It is a suntrap, giving us welcome relief from the wind. We all had hot drinks,... More

We had a lovely snack there - the staff were very accomodating of our younger party members supplying toast with no butter and jam and a magnificent hot chocolate. But what they do best is a Devon cream tea. Delicious!

Called into the Cosy Teapot for a cream tea whilst on holiday in Budleigh. I was delighted to find they offered a Black Forest version of the traditional cream tea with a chocolate scone, black cherry jam and clotted cream which was absolutely delicious. My husband went for the more traditional variety and enjoyed his too. This was quite a... More

How nice to sit outside and enjoy a meal watching the world go by in this unspoilt resort of Budleigh. Although very busy, we did not have to wait too long to be served, tea in china cups and sandwiches will abundant fillings: crab for my wife and tuna, tomato with red onion for myself, both came with a generous... I was really dissapointed, i stopped by here for a cup of coffee with my baby boy after having a walk along the beach, they had obviously been really busy as all the empty tables outside were stacked with dirty plates and cups so they must be a popular venue. I waited to be served, there was a gentleman who... More

Worth a visit to the other end of the High Street to stop off for a cuppa served in beautiful china cups. A real treat.
