Depends on the waitress

Food has been good, especially the fish. Lady in charge very friendly and so was one of the waitresses. The wait for food to arrive seems to depend on which waitress you get, which is rather odd. We had a young waitress who must have been learning and we had to wait ages for our food: I think... read more

Popped in for a late breakfast early lunch after a long walk. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I ordered a late breakfast bite, after the official breakfast time had finished, and it was no problem. That's nice and shows customer friendly flexibility. Just a stones throw from the beach and main road, nicely tucked away for a quiet break/pitstop. A... More

This was the first cafe we came to when we arrived in town and weren't we lucky? We had very tasty and competitiely priced coffee in charming and quaint surroundings.

This could be a great little place to eat, as the food wasn't too bad, I had the Sunday roast and the veg were all freshly cooked. They were even able to offer gluten free gravy. Most places we eat could not offer this.the gluten free choc cake was really nice. The one thing that let's them down is it... More

I am very unhappy with this review the knife i dropped was put into my apron pocket and returned to the kitchen to be washed, the bundle of clean knives were put into the drawer. I would not dream of putting it into the drawer with clean cuttlery. I wish that i had be made aware of the issue with... More

Tucked away in a side street to the beach we have walked past this unprepossessing little cafe many times. More fool us. Basic tables and chairs in two separate rooms we arrived just after midday to an almost empty scenario. Basic regular menu but a blackboard of specials with several more options all at reasonable prices. The food was exteremly... More

My son had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and also said it was excellent. Nice atmosphere good staff And... More

Sat here with my laptop to use the wi-fi and do some work. The waitress told me that I can sit down and plug it in, but that I would have to unplug it if people came, with the fear of tripping on the wire (!!). But she did not tell me that the table I was sitting was booked,... More

Was looking for somewhere to go for a Sandwich and a bit of late lunch. I saw this place down the side street, and thought we should give it a try. Great atmosphere, lovely food and the service was top notch also. Would highly recommend the carrot cake as that was amazing, and would recommend it for anyone visiting Budleigh... More

My family and I visited here again on Tuesday and were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the food cooked to perfection and nothing was too much trouble. Every time I visit Budleigh we eat here and it never fails to deliver. Thank you keep up the excellent service.

Ate here with friends on Monday lunchtime. My friend ordered a jacket potato but was told they were not yet cooked so ordered an alternative. 5 minutes later a party sat at the next table and ordered the potato without a problem. Waitress was rude and our food was average. We have holidayed here for 10 years and my advice... More
