The food here is fresh and nicely presented. Views are beautiful and service, though slow, is friendly and pleasant. It is basically tapas style and we ordered baked feta cheese, vegetable pies, smoked salmon, cucumber dip and potatoes. All tasted good. Portions were tiny though and, while I don't mind paying $10 for two hand made and beautifully presented vegetable... More

We ate dinner here in June 2015 - actually the first night they opened for the season. The food was quite good for the most part - especially the tapas. The meatballs and dates are both excellent. This was a nice surprise and change from the Scandinavian dishes we were accustomed to on our trip. The service was a bit... More

When you arrive in Balestrand and you are looking for a nice place this is the restaurant to try. The cider is certainly worth trying and the food is a fusion made from local ingredients into turkish meze, hot and cold. It tastes delicious, the staff is very friendly and the location itself is lovely.

Very good food, fine atmosphere, wonderful service. Everything was well prepared, our waiter, the owner's son took especially good care of us. Interesting food, so Turkish influence.

This is a seasonal restaurant, open only in the summer. It is outstanding. Beautiful views onto Sognefjord, an orchard on the premises, the fruit from which they make into cider, inspired food, and decent prices.

This is the best restaurant in Balestrand hands down. The setting was gorgeous, we even saw a rainbow at dinner. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way. The food was very delicious, having a Middle Eastern / Norwegian flair. I believe the cook is Turkish. We came in without reservations and were lucky. Be sure to... More

If you are coming through Balestrand as part of a tour of Norway, it would be quite the shame to miss the Ciderhuset. Not only is the restaurant building set among apple, plum and apricot trees, but it has an idyllic view of the fjord, which I'm not sure anyone else has...anywhere. The staff is comprised of a single family... More

Came here on our only night in Balestrand. Part of our honeymoon across Norway. All the staff knew and were congratulating us. They even made up a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our table. The food was delicious and the Cider was even better! All of the cider is made downstairs as well.
