Ranked #3 of 35 Restaurants in Asolo
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Price range: $36 - $143
Cuisines: Italian
Dining options: Reservations, Late Night
Description: I was in Asolo last weekend and discovered that Ca' Derton is closed in the centre of town and has reopened as Locanda Baggio just on the outskirts of Asolo. Ca' Derton is the name of the house where the restaurant was located for nearly 20 years, so they had to change the name when they moved. The new restaurant is still great, and I would like to write a review.

Don't miss the opportunity of eating at this family owned and run restaurant between Asolo (for the history and shopping) and Possagno (for Canova!). We ate lunch here as a two-some and dinner with seven friends. The owner chief, and his wife and daughter, as well as another chief named Lucca, made out dinner the best. We arrived--an hour early--exhausted... More

We had a very nice supper in this classy restaurant, classy for the regional standards. We were welcomed with a very nice glass of Prosecco and the standard red wine of the house I ordered for the meal was absolutely very correct! The Antipasti were of good quantity and the flavours well balanced. My wife was disappointed by the fried... More

This is probably the best restaurant in Asolo. The dishes - many with a local connection - are prepared with enormous care and attention by a family which can count several generations of restaurant-owners among its members. The food is of Michelin-quality standard, but the place is relaxed and informal, and the waiting staff (most seem to be family members)... More

Very simply...the best! This family run restaurant has been a staple in Asolo for many years (formerly known as Ca' Derton), but the food has always been quite simply amazing...every dish is a delight. The room and the service is exceptional, as only a family-run place can be...warm, friendly, a lot of conversation about food, wine, family...you feel like an... More

Had lunch here the other day. This family run business exudes both warmth and sophistication. We had a scallop starter, seafood pasta, pork with fennel and an orange relish finish plus a sublime chocolate dessert that was topped with a berry mousse. We chose Le Due Torri cabernet and liked it so much, we took a bottle back to the... More

This is a truly exceptional restaurant with cooking that is both innovative and traditional. The young son of the owner will tell you where every ingredient comes from in amazing detail. The wine list is extensive (we had the same Valpolicella Ripasso as "willypau", and it was indeed amazing). And the price is quite reasonable given the quality of the... More

Awesome and original meals. The family is endearing and no one can beat the meals as described by Nino's son. Ask him to translate the menu. It's a performance. We returned twice when there are many good places in the area.

This jewel of a restaurant pops up unexpectedly on a country road behind the Asolo hills. You would never expect to find a dining experience of this magnitude in such a place. We ate on the patio outside in back, and had the most lovely dinner. The food is really really good- this coming from a crazy foodie from northern... More

Locanda Baggio was recommended by the host of the agriturismo (Borgo di Asolo) where we were staying. The food was 5 star - beautifully presented with exceptional taste. The chef(s) have taken traditional local dishes of the region and put an exquisite gourmet touch on each dish. Exceptional, not to miss dishes include the Tortelli with marlocca cheese and pears;...
