Most delicious pizza in my life. Spectacular view on an ancient churches. Very fast and helpful stuff. Unfortunately it was same difficulties in communication in English.

One of the few nice looking restaurants to actually be open in Modica at 7pm on a Sunday. The tomato, mozzarella and basil salad was a lovely starter. We chose meat main courses, the beef steak was nice, the pork a little rubbery but tasty enough. A tip here is to order side dishes to share, two plates of patatine... More

Our hosts suggested we go to 'le Perla' for traditional Sicilian pizza. We were early as it was still not open for dinner . but the server "valerio" was so pleasant and helpful . He went out of his way to make us comfortable order a drink and actually got us food earlier . It's a great place to watch... More

Very good seafood antipasti: generous and tasty helpings of octopus and squid. Veal in mushrooms was dreadful : bland and chewy, so we sent it back. Pizza diavola was a much better choice. Nicely situated outside a baroque church in the heart of the town. Good prosecco to wash it all down. Service a bit slow, but friendly enough. Bustling... More

We were desperately trying to find somewhere a Saturday lunchtime and fell upon this place. The pizzas and other food proved good, the price reasonable, and the waitresses particularly welcoming and friendly. They were especially helpful toward my wife, who had hurt her leg and had difficulty getting around. Convenient and pleasant without being exceptional. We would like to have... More

We ate here as it was the only place we could find that was open and serving pizza at lunchtime and delighted we did! We ordered two pizzas - both were amazing! We also had the arancini which was also delicious. The restaurant is typically Italian and slightly austere inside but the food makes up for it. Two pizzas, two... More

The food was perfectly adequate (among stiff competition around) but the blonde lady had no manners at all, she was rude, unsmiling, uncaring and a disgrace to the otherwise wonderful Sicilian culture and the restaurant.

La Perla is the only, I repeat, only restaurant in Modica where we've felt that the 'Inglese' were barely tolerated - even the Italian (though to be fair, not Sicilian) speaking ones! My pizza was perfectly good, as was my partner's, but there were repeated issues with a friend's order and the surly attitude left a lot to be desired.... More

I went with some friends for a nice meal and ended walking out of this restaurant. My Italian is not good but it is passable, the restaurant managed to get my order wrong not once but twice! I left before my friends and the waitress was then heard complaing to other customers about me. Not good.

Liked the food, surroundings and the pics inside (showing old and ancient Modica Basa during floods, etc.). The food was OK but, as the subject line, is in the face of stiff competition.
