Good enough to go gain

Had dinner & lunch the following day. Antipasti on first day were not only more than enough but also very good. Not the usual pastry stuff but genuine cucina casareccia. In particular the caponata & the parmigiana were extremely good. The next day, after an obligatory serving of caponata we had the... read more

The restaurant is unassuming and off the beaten path, but we made the trip on the instance of the owner/manager of our hotel. It was well worth it. Roberto (owner/chef) was very welcoming of our family and patient with our very limited command of the Italian language. We had a large assortment of dishes, each of which he described for... More

This restaurant is in the outskirts of Modica, in a residential area and you wouldn't come across it by chance; we found it through TA. It has a no-nonsense, no-frills feel. The staff were very friendly and tried to make it easier for us even though we don't speak any Italian. The food was OK and there was plenty of... More

Nothing beats being invited by an Italian family for dinner but of course unless you know one this might not happen. The closest you can get is dining at this place. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you will feel that your have experienced authentic Sicilian dining. We spent 43 USD for 2 people and... More

I ordered the ravioli which were homemade, light and delicious, with the pomodora sauce. They were large and filled with ricotta. We also had the pollo which was pounded very thin and breaded. It was good but we didn't experience the "WOW". Good food at a good price

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we knew we had scored. It smelled great and it just looked like a restaurant that held a lot of promise. The restaurant owner took our orders and served us, which is always a great thing. Had that kind of mid 70s or 80s feel to it, like your back in an... More

This is the sort of place you find Sicilian families enjoying a good evening meal. Totally unpretentious and welcoming. We had a huge antipasta of aubergine cheese and tomato, followed by ravioli with tomato sauce, then three meats including slow pork with chips and salad. All with a good young rustic red wine. We just made it to ricotta and... More

Honest local food in huge quantities, so beware. Tasty and proudly presented by owner. One of the few places in Sicily where we had meat, though it was hard to say what the three morsels on our plate were exactly. Very relaxed atmosphere. A place for local families.

I recently came here with a large group of well travelled discerning individuals. Everyone loved the superb fresh home made produce, the family atmosphere and the experience of eating REAL Sicilian food. Very friendly people, excellent value for money, highly recommended.
