What a quaint chocolate shop. The flavors might be different from what your used to. It's a very clean dry taste with great tasting melting qualities on your tongue. These Chocolatiers are artisans working with old time recipes. Try all the different varieties to find the one most to your liking. It's a flavor field trip. Stay at the B&B... More

I had to stop here on my way from Ragusa to Syracusa. I am more of a milk chocolate fan but I sampled their dark chocolate. The flavors were very very good. I bought a bar of the lemon flavor. No extra additives to the chocolate. The other food they are famous for is their cannoli. I had one. WOW!!... More

Not sure how this place is listed under restaurants as it is a shop where they produce and sell the most amazing Modican chocolate. The displays give you a brief outline of the history and production and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful in their description of the products. There are many places in Modica selling this type of... More

We stopped in Modica en route from the Baroque town of Scicli to Ragusa because we'd heard about the chocolate here...wandering up the main street there must have been a dozen places to sample the famous (and very distinctive!) chocolates..we made our way up the street, then crossed over to the archaeological museum (worth a stop!) and back down -... Nice little Dolceria, serving amazing modican chocolate! Eveything was explained and we even managed to taste a chocolate liquor! Worth a visit.

First time ever I gave a try to this very special chocolate: no added butter nor milk, not very sweet, grainy-textured. Taste the cardamom or nutmeg, that's heaven

A good place to visit while you are in Modica. I wouldn't drive there specially but if you visit Modica it's a good place to stop, taste this wonderful chocolate and to buy some staff home. Also the Canoli they produce is great.

We were in Modica as part of the Esplora Holidays, 'Montalbano' Tour based around the RAI 'Montalbano' Television series and visited various locations around Modica used in the television series including the Duomo di San Giorgio. Our Tour manager, Damian Croft, arranged for us to visit L'Antica Dolceria Bonajuto chocolate shop where their famous Modica chocolate is produced. Kitted out... More

I bought a few bars and a tin of the pepperoncino at Eurochocolate 2013 on a whim, trying to give Sicilian chocolate a try. What a disappointment! The consistency is very grainy and dry. It was likened to sun-dried bricks to make an adobe or some pyramids. Not well conched, not well-composed. I would suggest sticking with Tuscan or Parisian... More

Worth a visit but not shore why classed under restaurants. Should rather be under places to visit/shopping. In all event, great selection of local chocolate in the oldest producer in Modica.
