Delicious Modica food where I didn't expect it

I walked past Osteria dei Sapori Perduti several times during my stay in Modica because it looks like a tourist place -- sandwich board outside with photos of the dishes. But then a Modica resident recommended it to me when I was asking for dining suggestions. What a wonderful surprise. I ordered... read more

Recommended by our hotel, we were lucky enough to call in here on a Sunday evening and have one of the best meals of our stay in Sicily. The service was friendly and attentive despite all the tables being full. The Lolli with broad beans and the veal stew were delicious. Don't miss it!

Searching for chocolate in Modica, we were hungry and we walked by this and the menu looked good so we stopped in. Very touristy but good, with little or no seafood, which was a welcome change!, Portions were large, especially the lentil soup, also enjoyed the sweet & sour rabbit and the mixed pork platter.

There you can taste the typical old Sicilian cuisine - pasta, cece, lasagne di melanzane, antipasti. Delicious !

Locals recommended this place to us for lunch. Food was so good! We would recommend it to those looking for quality, local food at great prices and very good service. Menu has pictures of everything, so look at mouth-watering pictures and order. What you see is what you get! Wonderful! We plan to return.

There were four of us visiting Sicily in late October, early November. This wonderful restaurant has made amazing efforts to promote Sicilian specialties including what was no doubt a costly menu with photographs of the dishes and detailed decsriptions in four languages. We were surprised at the number of delicious salads including my favorite, with fennel and oranges. Good atmosphere... More

The restaurant is favored by the locals and offers fantastic selection of typical Sicilian food of the Modica area. We had eaten there on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to see so many local families with kids. The menu has pictures and English translation, but this place is not a tourist trap at all. We really enjoyed their pasta... More

This is a great restaurant with an amazing selection of fresh, and tasty Sicilian dishes. It is popular and buzzing with atmosphere, great service and very reasonable prices There are just so many special seasonal dishes and a great wine list. We loved the pasta con le tenerezze and pasta che tinniruma

By saying family fun doesn't degrade the eating experience. This is a typical osteria with good and plentiful food at a good price. Wine by the carafe. We sat upstairs and probably were the only tourists. There will be a parking place in the street if you have patience or are lucky...no pay, just park if yellow striped.
