Yes its relatively inexpensive and the menu does come with pictures. However not quite the same as it actually looks on real life. Service was very slow but we weren't in a hurry so that wasn t .problem. pretty average from our perspective. There are nicer places to eat.

Very nice traditional Sicilian food, with an attention to simplicity and seasonality. The restaurant is a bit too big, and feels quite touristy, but is worth a visit.

Don't expect fancy wines; fancy dishes or incredible service here - but do expect, cheap, hearty and generous-sized portions of Sicilian cuisine. It's a popular place with the locals and the cute feral cats of Modica who wind between tables, waiting for a snack. We ordered antipasti for two; pasta main and a delicious bean-based Sicilian stew plus two carafes... More

The way you come via the Corso Umberto I, the Main Street in Modica, via the bar and then left to the restaurant provides a glimpse of the great food to expect. The Osteria is like an English pub, but better quality, with food and great wines. We had lunch here on a sunny September afternoon, with lots of locals... More

We shared the Antipasti which had Arancini(rice balls), caponata(olive/ aubergine ragu), ricotta, boiled egg, garlic bread, Sicilian sausage, Sicilian cheese, and one or two other little tastes of the island. It was lovely, and not too filling, and we washed in down with some locale Rossi- local red wine served chilled in a classic flip top bottle. We then had... More

This is a wonderful restaurant serving typical Sicilian dishes from antipasto to primi secondi and dolci. We especially enjoyed the antipasti selection. The ricotta is fantastic. They even serve glutin free pasta which we were told was the best! The place is huge with a lot of outdoor seating but plenty inside in inclement weather. The prices are about 6-8... More

My third time to Modica and this Osteria and would return. The dishes are based on traditional Sicilian recipes and are always freshly prepared. Hint: you can ask to have two half portions of starters to try as many of the dishes as possible especially if sharing with others! Service was excellent too. Bill for 4 persons with 8 half... More

You have to be impressed by the service of the 100 or so tables that are lined up outside the biggest eatery in Modica. That is, the speed of the service rather than the quality. Choosing quantity, as such, it is no surprise that the human touch suffers. Sadly, this seems also to be the case with the food. Traditional... More

Best meals - best service and,in our case, a complimentary tasting of chocolate as well as almond products (granita), delicious. then a lift home in a charming little vehicle that could negotiate the tiny ancient paths and drop us at the door of our lovely cave 'Il Vicoletto di Emilio' The range of the food and the flavouring array would... i have sampled the food at this cute Osteria during my Barocco tour. I tried the pasta Tnniruma and pasta MACCU both were delightful and so tasty. all home made including the pasta, so fresh and tasty, never had anything like this before. Would definitely come back again to this cute little restaurant. it is worth the visit.
