This Osteria was recommended to us by the owner of an apartment we rented for three nights in Modica, a simply delightful town. It was recommended as having authentic food from the Ragusa region. And while we have no way of knowing how authentic it was, we can report that it was different than other food we had during our... More

Our local guide brought us to this atmospheric osteria in Modica. My husband and I ordered the cavatelli with tomato and melanzana (eggplant) and it was delicious. The bread and olive oil were tasty and of good quality. Their local wine was also very good and reasonable priced. Our whole group enjoyed the lunch.

This is a good place to come to if it is your first experience of sicilian country food because the menu (available in different languages) has helpful pictures of the options. We ate here twice and had good food both times. I particularly liked the bean and bacon soup and the rabbit. This is not fine dining, but the service... More

We were recommended this place for lunch by a local guide. All the other diners were local. Low key, simply furnished and decorated. Helpful waitress. Detailed menu gave all components of each dish, so easy to choose from. Lovely, genuine local food.

You are in a real local restaurant, with local guests, local decoration, and before all very tasty local food. We really enjoyed every plate we got

Busy popular restaurant in Modica. Good service but the food is nothing special. Quite a large menu but my wife only found a couple of dishes she would eat. As other reviewers have said the food is regional but they could do with having less dishes on the menu. The house red wine came in interesting half litre flasks and... More

This very simple restaurant has about 200 covers. The menu features classic Sicilian dishes, mostly from the surrounding region. Restaurants such as this are one of the joys of travel, tasting authentic food previously unknown to us. The bill for two with wine was about €30 and I would highly recommend it for lovers of genuine regional Italian cooking. It... More

We had a great dinner with pasta alla Norma and a soup. The service was nice. Very touristic, but it has maintained the authentic feeling
