Second visit to the restaurant following the good experience last year. Service was fast and efficient(we were a big group). Have to say that the first course was excellent, be it pasta or soup with small meatballs. My main course pancetta al forno was good but a couple had the "meats" and it was nothing to write home about. Avoid... More

This restaurant offers typical dishes from the Sicilian inland and it appears obvious that it has adapted to tourists. The quality of the food was good, but probably better suited to cold or warm weather. It is worthwhile going if in the area.

A surprisingly original menu for what looked suspiciously like a tourist trap, with lots of local dishes that we hadn't seen anywhere else in Sicily. The multi lingual glossy menu, complete with pictures, was slightly tacky but actually quite helpful, and we ended up with two very nice, and pretty large, pasta dishes - one with spinach and broccoli, one... We had 2 meals at this local restaurant on the main street of Modica.Sicily. The products of this area are tomatoes, eggplant and the best olive I have ever had. The tomato salad was fabulous as was the eggplant dish.

I ordered the seasonal dish pasta with tenerezze (zucchini flowers) and the orange salad. It was very good. They gave me a copy of their menu book that shows pictures of the menu items!

This is clearly a long established Modica restaurant which, sadly, we felt has become a bit of a tourist trap. It has a nice authentic feel to it until you see that that the hand written menus in local dialect are accompanied by glossy brochures on every table in about 7 languages with photos of the food. Although there were... More

I was prepared for a typical tourist meal, but the pasta was much better than anticipated and there was plenty on the plate. Service was efficient, nothing to pick fault with. Simple Sicilian food.

The restaurant is situated on a main street in Modica Bassa which is the historical centre of Modica. The decor is in the traditional style , informal and generally welcoming.Being on a main street , it is frequented by tourists, but this is no tourist trap

A nice inexpensive restaurant on the main road in Modica. It serves real local hearty peasant food. We had the antipasto , which was lovely. We then shared a beautiful tasting pasta dish. Finally a superb rabbit dish with roast vegetables. The bill, with wine coffee and grappa was less than 50 euros for two. Good value.

It took us a while to find anywhere decent to eat in Modica, due to the fact that the town centre is not well defined, as a result of which there are places sporadically spread. We walked past this osteria and thought nothing of it at first because the menu at the door was only a plain laminated card written... More
