Found by accident as we wandered around the winding streets of Modica but what a place!! Ravioli for starter in an amazing tomato reduction then pancetta in olives, capers and fennel seed with side of rosemary potatoes finishing off with a classic cannelloni....making my mouth water thinking of it...u really have to go most authentic place we visited in Modica

Loved this typical Sicilian restaurant's home made feel to its delicious food. Very cosy in one of Modica's back street alleys. Very friendly staff too!

A local directed us to this ally-way restaurant off one of Modica's main streets. He said it was food like his mother would make - and it was. Very local, lots of 'locali' and no rushing. The best item was the MACCO DI FAVE (soup of mashed fava beans). I'm still trying to replicate it so if you go and... More

We were recommended to eat here by a nearby shop owner. It is off the beaten track and maybe tricky to find unless you know where it is. It appears to be a locals restaurant. We had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. You are not rushed and made to feel very welcome. Great value as... More

Have been eating out all week and we were wanting somewhere a bit more simple serving basic pasta. This fitted the bill. All dishes were tasty. Full of locals and the gnocchi was delicious. Would go there again.

This trattoria was crowded the night we were there. Clearly the word is out that this is a cheap and cheerful place with simple food done well.

We ate the dish of Spezzatino di carne and the taste last for long time. Best we had. Great value for the money. Enjoyed very much

The term hidden gem is a travellers cliche, but it really applies here. We visited on the strength of the trip advisor reviews, it's so tucked away there's little chance you'd be just passing as it really is tucked away The clientele appeared to be mostly local, which is always a good sign, and there's a separate menu with English... A Putia ro Vinu is hidden in the beautiful narrow streets behind Modica's old city center. The best way to get a guided tour around the surprising Iblean cuisine, is to have a go at the restaurant's menu (15€), which is very elaborate, from the wonderful scacce modicane, to the typical broths, home-made pastas and succulent meat. The ravioli filled... More
