A great place to try the traditional foods of Modica

This restaurant was highly recommended at my hotel as a good place to find the local dishes that Modica is proud of, and it met my expectations. I had the very generous antipasto ra putia, which included scaccette, olives, dried sausage, grilled eggplant, 'ngiminata cunzata and other foods... read more

A Putia ro Vinu serves typical local food. Nice antipasta and good meat dishes - the rabbit stew was a good choice on a winter's night. The cannoli was excellent. The meal style was basic and tasty, very much as we have come to expect in Sicily. It was an enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. It was also good value,... More

A pleasant restaurant with friendly staff who had sufficient English to help where necessary. The menu though includes a description in English. We chose a fixed price menu which included 2 courses with a ½ carafe of wine. I had a pasta dish with a pork source and a second meat course also with a source. The meal was quite... More

This place was next to where we were staying and was always packed so we decided to try it for our last meal in Modica. It was rustic and authentic and the staff friendly if a little confused (we twice ended up with other people's meals). The food was a bit disappointing - boiled meats, heavy sauces, a bit greasy.... Good food and wine. Fair service and a bit of miscommunication probably due to our language limitations. A family oriented local business. I would go back.

We absolutely loved this place which was recommended by the place we were staying in. It is real Sicilian food where all the locals go. I had the meat dish which was tasty and so reasonable. My husband had a beef stew dish and the sauce was amazing. It was so busy with locals coming in that it is definitely... More

Great trattoria though! For very low prices a lot of traditional and fresh food directly from MODICA. Lovely place we will come back!

The lady from our hotel suggested this place and we enjoyed it a lot! Cheeseplatter to start with, and some nice raviolis and a nice secondi. And a canoli for desert - what a treat! Also the small street where it is located is very charming. At 21:00 a lot more locals came in for dinner and we saw a... More
